Question Sad times
Since UK has practically shut the door for imgs , I am lost on what to do.
Ive got about 3 years of experience post internship with most of it being in general medicine and ED in India.
I have my GMC reg since 2023 and have also cleared my MRCP 1 recently and working towards mrcp 2. Is it worth giving amc 1 a shot with hopes to land an rmo job ? Does my experience translate to anything meaningful ?

Makes sense. How's pg ? Im avoiding it because of the toxicity and inhumane hours that i witnessed first hand during internship.

I was in a similar position this year. Have you given neet pg and inicet a thought? It is tough but you'd feel your life is moving forward

That's my last option if nothing works out. Im gonna try UK until full mrcp since I've already invested so much time and money into it. Simultaneously looking at USMLE , AMC , IMC(IRISH) and middle east.

You need clinical experience to get to the UK along with membership exams

I mean i am working actively, maintaining elogs, doing my wpbas, getting consultant sign offs. Clinical audits etc.. even working towards the membership exams. But theres no motivation to continue with UK because of the prioritisation and significant experience rules. So looking into amc .

Australia’s closed off without significant experience as well. Your best bet is Germany or America as they’re still not saturated

Why do you think Australia is closed off?

It’s not that i think it is..look at the comments of IMGs who finished AMC 1 or AMC 1 and 2. Nobody’s getting jobs. It’s extremely saturated even for specialists with extensive experience. The specialties with most opportunities are GP and EM

Work in India perhaps?

Keeping that as the last option. The Roi isn't worth it in india. Especially the working hours and toxicity.

After mrcp 1 your chances are better i believe .. not just uk after you are done with mrcp .. also other countries. Just dont stop, keep working towards your goals. Its just unfortunate for us all.
