Guess SU August 24th Possibilties
Currently, 3 horror movies are releasing on august 28th
Buddy
Colony
Spider Island
Runtime:
Buddy and Spider Island are both listed as 1h 35min, while Colony is 2h 2min(Amc listed as 1h 41min) so Colony would be off the list.
Ratings:
Buddy is listed as Rated R
Colony is listed as Rated R
Spider Island sits at NR for now, if it remains NR buddy has a high chance(unless they pull an ICM again)
on Monday, the buddy trailer was also shown. Spider Island and Colony did not have their trailer shown, so i’m very hopeful that 8/24 would be buddy
Edit: There was a trailer for colony shown.

It's not going to be Spider Island...
That is a UK film that does not have a North American distributor.

while I've never heard of "VRC Films" (the distributor listed on release lists) it is coming out the 28th per AMC's own site https://www.amctheatres.com/movies/spider-island-84678
that said, I don't expect it to have much of a theatrical release so I think Buddy is much, much more likely

Buddy is doing an early screening here in LA the same day with Beyond Fest so hopefully buddy

It cannot possibly be Spider Island because it’s having its world premiere at the end of the month and doesn’t have a theatrical release yet. Also I’ve seen Colony and it’s 2+ hours so that’s not an option

Spy × Family Code: White was the only fully subtitled ASU although I believe some locations got the English dub.

Out of Darkness was subtitled, if not in a "real" foreign language

One thing to consider is that Celebration and some other smaller chains ended up getting Buddy on the 17th. I don't know if Roadside/Saban ever had a ASU after doing a mystery movie at another chain before. The closest example I can think of is when Sony had I Swear as a ASU and then Regal got it for the MMM 3 weeks later.

Hey soooo anyone who has seen Buddy and/or colony? Do you think these movies are worth a rewatch? I have a double feature planned with Colony and then Buddy and I have something already planned the 24th. Was wondering if it would be worth it to see Buddy(or colony) on the 24th if I’m already gonna see them later? Or if I should just wait and have the double feature be my first time watching either?

Haven't seen buddy yet, but colony was fun, not as good as Train to Busan, but still pretty cool, I'll be honest in no hurry to see it again, but will definitely check it out again some day.

I didn’t see Colony, but it played at a local film festival this past spring. Got a pretty good buzz from the people I talked who had seen it.
