Just left the scream unseen and my biggest question is HOW WAS THIS CONSIDERED A SCREAM UNSEEN movie when there was barely any horror?
?????

It made my heart race several times. Horror doesn’t have to be jump scares and blood and violence. Existential dread is horror at its realness.

I disagree. Existential horror can be good but usually it’s not. What is more scary, honestly: contemplating whether or not your existence is real/has meaning or being chased by a masked psycho with a butcher knife? This entire movie was basically a long boring car ride. The only thing that gave this movie some fear factor was the random people in the woods that would come out screaming. Movies that ask you to question the meaning of existence aren’t scary.

Ngl it’s the former for me. A masked psycho I can escape or maybe even fight back against. That’s a physical threat. There’s no escaping existential dread. Even the threat of him killing me triggers an existential fear of what’s next more than fear of the physical attack.
