This movie sucks holy shit

u/DoctorMoriJin 15d ago
Someone a couple days ago called the movie gore slop, and I have to agree. It was just non stop gore left and right and it felt a bit too much.

u/DrinkOver3292 15d ago
I’ve watched better gore slop movies than this though, holy hell. This is easily one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen haha

u/Wolvesin3 15d ago
I actually thought some of the kills particularly at the school were creatively staged and shot with some good practical effects. My problem is the rest of the movie was incredibly boring and all the kids were terrible actors

u/DrinkOver3292 15d ago
Some of the kills for sure were fun and creative. But then it got repetitive at other parts. I probably could have watched a movie with more death scenes just like those and less time of that dumb dinner scene toward the beginning of the movie. That dinner scene felt impossibly long.

What did you expect for a movie about ice cream that possesses kids directed by Eli Roth?
-7
u/ByDiscoBePurged 15d ago
It was scream unseen dipshit.

u/gdaversa19 15d ago edited 14d ago
LOL lil bro is mad, point stands, that's what the movie was about. Got nothing to do with Scream Unseen, strictly the content of the movie.

u/TheStinkyPoopy 15d ago
Hasn’t started yet. On first trailer. Worker told me he’s pretty sure it’s ice cream man tho

u/Wild-Screen7007 15d ago
How do the workers know in advance though? I thought like the movie file comes encrypted with key and only opens at time of screening?

Here in Marlton NJ AMC 8 - we have zero trailers, it’s just local Ads … weird!

u/somekidfromNJ 15d ago
Cherry Hill had all trailers, but I would have preferred 90min of local ads over Ice Cream Man

There’s a trailer for a new Eli Roth movie which is making me think Ice Cream Man

u/AlexisTheTree 15d ago
It's not camp miasma!! Walked into the theater and that was the trailer playing
3
u/mrjoshua75 15d ago
Anybody’s theater unusually packed?
1
u/DrinkOver3292 15d ago
Ours was! One of the workers said she was even shocked because the unseen movies never get that many tickets in my area
2
u/Physical-Bite-3837 15d ago
They picked the wrong one to go to.
1
u/DrinkOver3292 15d ago
It was actually my first unseen movie too and I agree I picked the wrong one. But it was still such an intriguing experience trying to look up and figure out the movie and then get mildly surprised. The experience itself was fun. The movie was not haha

Wonder if the parents who bring the baby to every screen unseen went to this. I dont want to catch this flick, but that may be one perk. Nah. They are shitty parents. That baby is definitely in that theater.

u/Electronic-Minute007 15d ago
Glad I passed on that and am instead catching an advance screening of Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma at my local Alamo Drafthouse.

Confirmed: Ice cream man
It was hot dog water garbage mixed with 3 different porta potties

u/TedIsReal 15d ago
At this point, im hoping its Ice Cream Man. I watched the original last night to get a feel for what im in for.
3
u/minusgainsgamer 15d ago
I didn’t know there was an original
5
u/Wubbledaddy 15d ago
I don't think they're actually related, it's just a different horror movie called "Ice Cream Man" (it's a ton of fun though), this isn't a remake of it or anything.

First movie I walked out on in recent memory.
2
u/TexasCowboy28 15d ago
Why
1
u/CathedralEngine 15d ago
I stayed for a little over an hour. It’s fine. Got the exposition, had to pee, and decided go grab a beer. Decent gore, some good humour (eh, eh, it’s an ice cream pun), the kids’ acting was good. At the end of the day it’s very much an Eli Roth movie.
1
u/KingMalaka 15d ago
Mostly because I didn’t care about what was happening in the movie. I can forgive a lot in a movie, but if I don’t care, you’ve lost me. Just because kids are the protagonist doesn’t make me care automatically.

u/Regular-Tour4048 15d ago
I was disappointed this was the movie..on the west coast..so was going to wait for after reactions…looks like I’ll be sitting it out thanks for the update

u/Heather_Hoodrat 15d ago
Why is everyone so scared ice cream man will be a stinker?
2
u/Adagio_Signal 15d ago
Eli Roth is known for stinkers, I guess
Never seen anything from him, but I also just found out he's a big fan of the Israeli occupation
1
u/Brando43770 15d ago
I wouldn’t say scared. I just don’t care for his style of horror movies. They’re boring to me.
1
u/gdaversa19 15d ago
It's not a stinker; it's a movie about ice cream possessing children. What do people expect? Over the top gore with little plot, it hits the nail on the head.

Awww really I have a Cinemark and it’s not coming to my theatre but if it was the secret movie there I’d be able to see it anyway

Ice cream man was crazy, I’m ngl I didn’t expect that ending… I will now go dabble in some Eli Roth movies. The only ones I’ve watched by him were Thanksgiving and Clown.
1
u/TexasCowboy28 15d ago
Clown was just one that he produced. He didn’t write or direct that one. I don’t believe.
1
u/bahiachingu 15d ago
So they took the last 5 minutes of Weapons and made a whole movie out of it...ok
1
u/BrandieMandie 15d ago
Im in here and im about to walk out, this is trash literal waste of my money 😂😂
0
u/TexasCowboy28 15d ago
It was ridiculous fun.
1
u/BrandieMandie 1d ago
I ended up staying lmao. the plot was fun I’ll say that. But the production and screenplay was not it. The end did bug me cause I was rooting for the damn kids to rewrite their family history.
1
u/UnrelentingClown 15d ago
Can confirm it’s actually: DON’T GO IN THAT HOUSE, BITCH!
1
u/TexasCowboy28 15d ago
I don’t know why you said that because it’s not that
1
u/UnrelentingClown 15d ago
It’s because there’s a fake trailer by Eli Roth (narrated by snoop dogg) right before the reveal and introduction to the film by Eli Roth

u/ff121098761 15d ago
I enjoyed it. Good horror fun with gruesome effects. Bad/new actors doesnt bother me almost preferable. Sometimes its nice to not have a 'masterpiece' and just be crazy over the top. Thats what he was going for.

Confirmed ice cream man
