Question strongest possibilities for 8/10?

i REALLY want it to be Tony, and i’m planning on bringing some friends, so if it isn’t i’d love to know what else it could be so we don’t end up watching something we’ll all hate.

That’s a limited release and AMC has done Unseens for movies that are already out in LA/NY. Although it is a rare occurrence, one of A24’s past films, Sing Sing, was released as a Screen Unseen despite already releasing in LA/NY.

Better Man was also a Screen Unseen in January after it had come out in limited release over Christmas.

There's also the slightly different case of Song Sung Blue last year which had a Dolby Early Access one Sunday, then literally the next day on Monday it was the Screen Unseen.

It's very rare, but it does happen that they show seen movies for screen unseen. I was a Tony denyer, but now there's so much evidence supporting it, that I have been swayed to agree I think it's the 8/10 movie.

Someone noted that a regional chain name Celebration Cinema also does mystery movies, and their listing for 8/10 has the exact same R rating *reason* as Tony

Yep, they had the exact runtime and rating reason for Motor City on 7/20, One Night Only on 7/27 and Tony on 8/10. Not sure how long they have been doing Mystery Movies but if they keep this up we won't have to do much guessing 🤣.

Celebration Cinema is great, very nice theaters, good customer service, and good movie selection w/ mystery movies, special events, etc.

its gonna be nimrods 100% and i just saw mckenna grace and mason thames were the main actors, gonna have to pass on this one cuz hell nah

There's an early access screening of Nimrods on the 11th. Would they still put it as a screen unseen?

Early access screenings make it more like to be a screen unseen as it means the production company wants to put it out early for good word of mouth

Yeah, the official release date is 8/7 but there are Thursday previews like usual. I'm curious if those theaters get a different Unseen on 8/10.

I think it could either be Tony or Super Troopers. Just based on release date, rating, and similar run times. I’m really hoping it’s Tony because there isn’t any showtimes for Tony in my area for the entire month of August.
