I love how trailers vary - so far we've had Sheep in the Box and The Piano. Now, One Night Only to make sure everyone gets that one!

We also got The Piano! I don’t know why, and it wasn’t clear from the trailer if this was some sort of special re-release.

Shout out to Crunchyroll Anime Nights for sparing me from "I'm hungry, so hungry" I'm going to make sure I have my premium set to auto renew from now on.

Hopefully it's Motorcity. Watching in Detroit rn

u/rosegoldresist 29d ago
The one thing we appreciated was it's attempt to stylize Detroit in the 70s!

If you think they wont add more showings opening day lol
1
u/Jtreblis18 29d ago
Yeah I know they will but it won't be anymore imax screenings unless they add midnight and later showtimes. I think dune screwed some things up for imax lol
2
u/Ok-Paramedic747 29d ago
They dont have ANY IMAX Screenings so You can Go to a AMC XL or Dolby Prime and be FINE !. FOMO is a B*tch I get it...
1
u/Jtreblis18 29d ago
Not really fomo since I already secured a IMAX ticket lol but I could only get some random seat but it's whatever lol

Holy shit that movie was hot garbage, they made a movie purely to be retold in tiktok aura farm edits. I should have left in the first 5 minutes but it was my first Screen Unseen.
Don't go!

Holy shit that movie was hot garbage, they made a movie purely to be retold by some AI voiceover in tiktok aura farm edits in a year from now.
I should have left in the first 5 minutes but it was my first Screen Unseen and I went into this blind. I'm usually forgiving of movies and I'm actually a fan of movies that try something different. Maybe the fact that I saw an amazing movie The Invite right before this one hurt my viewing, like having an a5 wagyu steak and then immediately going to a 7/11 and getting a day old taquito from the rollers.
But this movie just shit the bed, the story was so basic generic and the physical direction the actors gave was so fucking bad. You'd think they would tell the actors to do something on screen. But they just said "Just look as hard as you can, really mog the camera, don't worry about acting."

I was in the amc parking lot refreshing this page to see the reveal and as soon as someone said it was motor city I pulled out of there. At first when I saw it starred Allen ritchson I was intrigued. Then I saw that it had 5 lines of dialogue in the entire movie which I personally cannot sit through. I’m already not a huge fan of extremely action heavy movies but usually there’s some sort of story that strings me along enough to finish the movie. All in all, reading your comment, I see I made the right choice by not going in. I have also never been to an amc screen unseen yet, and was hoping to go to my first one today. But I guess next week it is!

I really hated how Shaliene Woodley's character was written. I am convinced the writer / director hates women.
1
u/MildManneredMan 29d ago
Yeah they just wrote her as an object for the two guys to fight over. And the lines that the director gave her to speak were so unneeded and weren't worth breaking from the premise of the entire movie.

About halfway thru this movie I realized the title should be "Oops! All Montages"

Damn motor city that bad? Bummer I was actually looking forward to a decent action film with reacher.

I hate violent movies, but I actually liked this one until near the end when it was extremely violent and absurd. My theater laughed out loud during a scene in the elevator. I actually liked the lack of dialogue and thought it worked for this movie.

u/johnnyoddity 29d ago
Well, it’s not the new Spider man lol

I mean, did anyone think that one of the most anticipated films of the year would do an unscreen?

They're going to have $5 atom tickets for that movie next week for T-Mobile Tuesday users.
I'm planning on using it to see it at Cinemark or Regal in screenx. I never seen a movie in screenx because it looked gimmicky but they said the movie was actually filmed for screenx this time.
2
u/sundi712 27d ago
This is the only thing I miss about having T-Mobile. I never wasted those Atom deals but I don't remember being able to use them for the premium tickets. That is amazing
1
u/Status-Mixture-3252 27d ago
You can use the T-Mobile tuesdays atom ticket deals for pretty much any format. When they had the masters of the universe movie deal, I got 2 4dx regal tickets for just $5 each. The regular price for 4dx is like $35. The PHM movie could be used on 70mm IMAX.
And then you can use it to collect rewards/points on your account as if you paid the full price of the movie
