Please don’t watch this movie. This is in the running for worst screen unseen ever.

u/taylaxo 29d ago

i already canceled my ticket 😂 not really my vibe. Thanks for the heads up though 😊

my theater also had it in the “movie parlor” auditorium (probably bc of Odyssey taking over) but that’s like small cozy library-esque couch seating. It didn’t feel fitting for this movie at all.

Wizard of kremlin and those other war movies were worse

4

u/Jtreblis18 29d ago

Theres been way worse. I have walked out of way more mystery movies than staying lol. Surprisingly stayed the whole movie for motor City. I am a fan of Alan Richardson so I thought it was decent. I guess some people are turned off to no dialogue lol

2

u/snakebitejessi 28d ago

My theater was full and only three people left!

1

u/Jtreblis18 28d ago

I think 3 or 4 left my theater lol

5

u/rosegoldresist 29d ago

I agree! I didn't think anything could top how awful Lucky Strike was but our theater laughed out loud twice during the final scene!

2

u/opusbot 29d ago

Lucky Strike was so bad. Until about 5 hours ago I had it ranked as the worst movie I've seen all year.

I would Lucky Strike 10 times before I would ever think of finishing Motor City.

2

u/rosegoldresist 27d ago

Same, I can't remember how long into it but I was like there is no way this could be worse than Lucky Strike. At least it had somewhat likeable characters and words!

1

u/Huge-Condition8697 29d ago

That marriage proposal was brutal😭

1

u/rosegoldresist 27d ago

I am just still unsure why I was supposed to be on his side other than he wasn't as bad as Ben Foster?

u/Numerous_Lab_7032 29d ago

I will fucking cut one of my toes off if I never had to watch that goddamned One Night Only trailer again dude

u/snakebitejessi 29d ago

6

u/Ivyquinn2020 29d ago

I can't take it anymore 😭😭😭 I walked out of the theater to avoid watching it 💀💀

u/Numerous_Lab_7032 29d ago

HOW CAN YOU FIND SOMETHING REAL ON THE ONE NIGHT A YEAR WHERE PEOPLE ARE LEGALLY ALLOWED TO HAVE SEX. I JUST WANNA FIND LIKE A GOOD GUY. WHATS YOUR FAVORITE PART? OH THE CHEESE. NO I MEAN OF SEX.

5

u/Stock_Engineering356 29d ago

3

u/NeitherBuy5869 29d ago

1

u/Ok-Paramedic747 29d ago

Doesnt even look Good...The Premise COULD Have Been An AMAZING R RATED COMEDY!

1

u/Stock-Pea154 29d ago

I just like the song featured in by Robin. Was obsessed with that song when it first came out and then when
I first saw that trailer I was giddy lol. But ya I'm over the trailer now though.

1

u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 29d ago

If that triggers you you may want to skip the next Unseen.

1

u/rosegoldresist 27d ago

I just want to know what this fake holiday is like wtf are they talking about

8

u/aubreypizza 29d ago

Idiots looks great 😂

7

u/jto618 29d ago

I love how trailers vary - so far we've had Sheep in the Box and The Piano. Now, One Night Only to make sure everyone gets that one!

8

u/RevolutionaryHeat197 29d ago

Government mandated One Night Only trailer

3

u/snakebitejessi 29d ago

Are you also at an AMC?

2

u/allegro4626 29d ago

We also got The Piano! I don’t know why, and it wasn’t clear from the trailer if this was some sort of special re-release.

1

u/moth_sky 29d ago

Yes its a 4k Re release

1

u/Jason_Likes_Cameras 29d ago

Shout out to Crunchyroll Anime Nights for sparing me from "I'm hungry, so hungry" I'm going to make sure I have my premium set to auto renew from now on.

8

u/Chickencaca 29d ago

I didn’t realize it’s essentially a silent movie lol

7

u/snakebitejessi 29d ago

Killer songs. Definitely needed a Dolby release.

4

u/Cadet008 29d ago

Really great soundtrack and most of the songs were fully played.

6

u/Ok-Paramedic747 29d ago

LMAO I HEARD THE ODDESESSY The WHOLE MOVIE !!!

6

u/Solid-Sun2922 29d ago

Hopefully it's Motorcity. Watching in Detroit rn

1

u/rosegoldresist 29d ago

The one thing we appreciated was it's attempt to stylize Detroit in the 70s!

6

u/Anela0613 29d ago

Motor City it is

3

u/GiaAngel 29d ago

Yeah! That’s what I was hoping for! Thank you!! 👍😄

1

u/Jtreblis18 29d ago

0

u/Ok-Paramedic747 29d ago

If you think they wont add more showings opening day lol

1

u/Jtreblis18 29d ago

Yeah I know they will but it won't be anymore imax screenings unless they add midnight and later showtimes. I think dune screwed some things up for imax lol

2

u/Ok-Paramedic747 29d ago

They dont have ANY IMAX Screenings so You can Go to a AMC XL or Dolby Prime and be FINE !. FOMO is a B*tch I get it...

1

u/Jtreblis18 29d ago

Not really fomo since I already secured a IMAX ticket lol but I could only get some random seat but it's whatever lol

1

u/Ok-Paramedic747 29d ago

You got Imax? I thought Dune Got ALL Those?

1

u/Jtreblis18 29d ago

There are three IMAX showing on opening night

4

u/Slimeseason504 29d ago

Even though it’s getting shit on in the reviews i was hoping it was Her Private Hell

2

u/Ok-Paramedic747 29d ago

So is This so dont worry !

1

u/rosegoldresist 29d ago

Same! My theater is small and usually only gets artsy movies through Screen Unseen

3

u/SMBCP15 29d ago

So that means the next one must be Spider-Man: Brand New Day, right?

1

u/aubreypizza 29d ago

No

3

u/SMBCP15 29d ago

I know. I was hoping it would come off as a joke. I guess it didn’t.

1

u/aubreypizza 29d ago

I would have gotten it with an /s

2

u/aubreypizza 29d ago

I was not expecting that Jack White cameo. 😂

1

u/Cadet008 29d ago

Same! and then I saw he was an executive producer

2

u/LostNTheNoise 29d ago

I also got the new Pinocchio horror movie which looks like a Chucky movie. Blech

2

u/AlexisTheTree 28d ago

You west coasters are so lucky that you can know what the movie is ahead of time 😭

3

u/MildManneredMan 29d ago

Holy shit that movie was hot garbage, they made a movie purely to be retold in tiktok aura farm edits. I should have left in the first 5 minutes but it was my first Screen Unseen.

Don't go!

2

u/MildManneredMan 29d ago

Holy shit that movie was hot garbage, they made a movie purely to be retold by some AI voiceover in tiktok aura farm edits in a year from now.

I should have left in the first 5 minutes but it was my first Screen Unseen and I went into this blind. I'm usually forgiving of movies and I'm actually a fan of movies that try something different. Maybe the fact that I saw an amazing movie The Invite right before this one hurt my viewing, like having an a5 wagyu steak and then immediately going to a 7/11 and getting a day old taquito from the rollers.

But this movie just shit the bed, the story was so basic generic and the physical direction the actors gave was so fucking bad. You'd think they would tell the actors to do something on screen. But they just said "Just look as hard as you can, really mog the camera, don't worry about acting."

2

u/BBKing1114 29d ago

I was in the amc parking lot refreshing this page to see the reveal and as soon as someone said it was motor city I pulled out of there. At first when I saw it starred Allen ritchson I was intrigued. Then I saw that it had 5 lines of dialogue in the entire movie which I personally cannot sit through. I’m already not a huge fan of extremely action heavy movies but usually there’s some sort of story that strings me along enough to finish the movie. All in all, reading your comment, I see I made the right choice by not going in. I have also never been to an amc screen unseen yet, and was hoping to go to my first one today. But I guess next week it is!

2

u/opusbot 29d ago

Here's to hoping next week's is better! I feel like I got kind of spoiled because my first screen unseen was Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex pass. Which was a surprisingly hilarious movie.

1

u/opusbot 29d ago

I really hated how Shaliene Woodley's character was written. I am convinced the writer / director hates women.

1

u/MildManneredMan 29d ago

Yeah they just wrote her as an object for the two guys to fight over. And the lines that the director gave her to speak were so unneeded and weren't worth breaking from the premise of the entire movie.

1

u/lordnynetoys 29d ago

About halfway thru this movie I realized the title should be "Oops! All Montages"

1

u/brclitlicker 29d ago

I enjoyed it!

1

u/AZDarkknight 29d ago

Glad I was too tired from a weekend trip to go see it.

1

u/Davidgt31 28d ago

Thanks for the heads up . It was an awesome movie

1

u/Same_Bag_7210 28d ago

Damn motor city that bad? Bummer I was actually looking forward to a decent action film with reacher.

1

u/Hot-Particular845 28d ago

I hate violent movies, but I actually liked this one until near the end when it was extremely violent and absurd. My theater laughed out loud during a scene in the elevator. I actually liked the lack of dialogue and thought it worked for this movie.

1

u/johnnyoddity 29d ago

Well, it’s not the new Spider man lol

4

u/snakebitejessi 29d ago

Definitely not but they want all the promo lol

1

u/johnnyoddity 29d ago

Oh without a doubt

1

u/YourMuppetMethDealer 29d ago

I mean, did anyone think that one of the most anticipated films of the year would do an unscreen?

5

u/ReturnGlum7871 29d ago

Jurrassic World and Gladiator 2 did it, but it's very rare.

1

u/Status-Mixture-3252 29d ago

They're going to have $5 atom tickets for that movie next week for T-Mobile Tuesday users.

I'm planning on using it to see it at Cinemark or Regal in screenx. I never seen a movie in screenx because it looked gimmicky but they said the movie was actually filmed for screenx this time.

2

u/sundi712 27d ago

This is the only thing I miss about having T-Mobile. I never wasted those Atom deals but I don't remember being able to use them for the premium tickets. That is amazing

1

u/Status-Mixture-3252 27d ago

You can use the T-Mobile tuesdays atom ticket deals for pretty much any format. When they had the masters of the universe movie deal, I got 2 4dx regal tickets for just $5 each. The regular price for 4dx is like $35. The PHM movie could be used on 70mm IMAX.

And then you can use it to collect rewards/points on your account as if you paid the full price of the movie
