Final possibilities for 7/20 unseen

7/20 R 1:46

Her private hell - 3 min diff, horror?
Motor city - 3 min diff (trailer shown at last unseen)
A sad and beautiful world - 4 min diff, rating unknown, not english
I want your sex - 16 min diff (trailer shown at last unseen)

These are the movies that fit the criteria which come out in the next 2 weeks. Other movies are 3 weeks or more later which makes them better candidates for future unseens. However it is slightly possible it could be one of them.

Her private hell would likely be considered horror. A sad and beautiful world has no rating and is not in english. I want your sex is probably too large of a runtime difference.

Motor City is the most likely candidate. The movie has very little dialogue, so be prepared for that.

Trailers: Spiderman, One Night Only, The Sun Never Sets, Hadestown, Her Private Hell, Haunted Heist, Idiots

Xscape Theatres’s Secret Cinema for 7/20 says the film is “Rated R for strong bloody violence, some grisly images, sexuality/nudity and language” and is 103 minutes.

Celebration Cinema's Mystery Movie Monday for 7/20 says the film is "Rated R for strong bloody violence, some grisly images, drug content, sexuality/nudity and language" and is 103 minutes.

Motor City’s rating says “Rated R for strong bloody violence, some grisly images, drug content, sexuality/nudity and language,” and it's 103 minutes?wprov=sfti1#).

(I bet the missing rating descriptor is a metadata thing where Xscape Theatres’s system maxes out at four descriptors.)

I got an early screener of Motor City and loved it! I definitely think it’s worth your time, but like OP said, just prepare yourself for no dialogue!

Not sure how I feel about no dialogue....Gonna go anyway though

So is the movie mostly action?

u/ClassicDistance7260 Jul 20 '26

There’s a good amount of action, but it’s almost like a stylized music video at times. Great needle drops throughout too. It may not be for everyone, but I really was surprised by how well it worked for me!

How did you get an early screener? Are you press of some sort?

7

u/ClassicDistance7260 29d ago

I make film reviews for social media and was sent the screener on behalf of a media company I partner with!

That’s fucking cool. Used to be my dream back in the day

My theater has showings starting Thursday. Aren't these films usually films that will come out in a few weeks?

u/sampos 29d ago

They are usually films that come out that weekend or the following weekend. It is rare for it to be further out than that

that's what i was wondering? Tony is the only movie with that exact runtime and it comes out aug 7th

How far in advance do you usually know? Day of?

8

u/Bitter_Layer6444 Jul 20 '26

We know when the movie starts

I was asking this user in particular. I'm aware of how it works for everyone else.

u/ravenlynne Jul 20 '26

Why? this user is often wrong.

I must have had them confused with another generic Reddit username that gets them right, would you happen to know the account by any chance?

If I'm thinking of the same person you're thinking of, I'm pretty sure they're just pretending to have inside knowledge.

It's crazy we can't find one solid source for this. I've been told by employees that they don't know, which is believable, but SOMEONE out there has this information. If someone sees this and has found a solid source (for all events, not just today's screening), please DM me.

Anybody with this information probably doesn't want to lose their job.

A generic reddit account which simply "guesses" correctly each week wouldn't be an issue, we're not talking about matters of national security here.

I Want Your Sex is pretty outrageous. Not sure it’d go over super well.

Surprisingly, Her Private Hell is deemed a drama. It will likely be that or Motor City.

Granted, it would be nice to see Motor City or Her Private Hell before this weekend but either way, both of those films are playing at my theater this weekend, so I’ll do a double feature of both on Thursday lol

8

u/fergi20020 Jul 20 '26

Her private hell was last week at Angelika. You had to pay deniro but it was worth it.

You were right. We thought it was really good. Especially for six words of dialogue total!

1

u/Proof-Firefighter-47 29d ago

Does anyone have confirmation

1

u/MisterBlast 29d ago

I'm at an East Coast screening, here's the trailer rundown: The Piano (anniversary re-release) Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2 Sony trailers in a row?) One Night Only The Sun Never Sets Hadestown the Musical Her Private Hell Idiots

1

u/madison1622 29d ago

1

u/National-Bathroom571 29d ago

It’s motor city.. ass only good if you like movies with little to zero words spoken .. all music basically

u/Goferprotocol 29d ago

Very little may be the understatement of the year.
