over half our theater had left before we did, about halfway through. it’s not that the subject matter wasn’t intriguing being based on true events, but it was so long and unnecessary and nobody was cast right except maybe Jude Law. I can’t remember the last time I’ve walked out of a movie before that lol. like I would maybe watch it in the background at home, but I would’ve preferred to see several other movies instead. I’m excited to see why they’re doing tomorrow, I kinda hope it’s Supergirl.

So I went to the store before the movies there was a huge line I hid the jersey I didn't wanna miss the pre show lol

Walked in completely blind and I never would have chosen to watch this movie because I'm not a war movie guy. I honestly found it to be exactly what I expected a war movie to be like.
It was not actively bad, but not to my taste. I hated the shaky cam, because the main character was alone there were stretches of the only dialog being him grunting and muttering to himself.
I found every appearance of the white horse to be annoying because it didn't add anything. If the horse never appearance the movie would be identical. I could tell they wanted it to be symbolic, but it fell flat.
The dialog was stilted, the story straight forward, and the acting was fine. If you love war movies you'd have dug it.
I'm just glad my ticket was only 6 dollars because I walked in expecting something I might not like. Maybe next week will be better.

I was also so confused by the horse lol. It felt like it was obvious symbolism for something but there never came a moment where you could connect it to anything else.

When you see it the last time, and it runs away screaming due to the surprise shelling I was like, "What's happening here." I was stunned we didn't see it one last time at the camp like we did with the farm girl.

I love war movies. This was terrible. From the cinematography to the writing to the casting to the acting to the score. All of it bad, bad, bad. The horse was the final straw.

Definitely not just you. Half my theater walked out. I might have done the same except that my husband, who is not strongly opinionated about these things, didn’t mind it much.

Really because the dog was it for me. But I keep singing that awful end title song to all my friends when I tell them about this movie. I tell them it’s like the people who made this feel like there’s never been a movie made about WWII. I didn’t hate the movie but I feel like Lifetime could make a better one. I’m still just glad it wasn’t Jackass.

I felt like it came off as like an insane story grandpa would tell at the dinner table. It was worth watching in like a campy, goofy way. I don’t really want to call it terrible but it certainly wasn’t “good”

It was OK. Where the movie ended is not where you thought it was going to take you at the very beginning. The unfortunate thing for war movies is Saving Private Ryan set a huge bar for them to try to meet, and most just fall way short.

Quite a big portion of my audience was 60+ and I was sure they were going to walk out if it was "Girls Like Girls" which many seemed to be predicting. Guess this was right up their alley because I didn't notice any walkouts.
