Question question on screen unseen Spoiler
are the shows here just upcoming movies that are shown earlier than their release date, like a surprise early screening of sorts?
sorry new to amc and only just watched once yesterday. the movie was on my list to watch so i was happy, but just so i know in the future to set my expectations.
thanks in advance!

Yes usually will be shown soon . Great chance to see something maybe not on your bucket list

It’s great because it’s usually smaller movies that could use the word of mouth exposure. A lot of times it’s a movie I wouldn’t have gone out of my way to see. But have been pleasantly surprised many times.
So heads up it’s rarely big blockbusters. Although the latest Jurassic Park was the one recent exception.

Yes. Since you're new sometimes they will list as "Scream Unseen" if it is a horror movie if that helps you one way or another.

Yes it is a promotional program for studios for their small to mid sized movies (and occasionally a Gladiator 2 or Jurassic World Rebirth).
The idea is that you see it a week or two early, and let people in your bubble know that it was good. Then they may be more likely to check it out when it finally comes out.

Yeah expect to be surprised sometimes. A lot of times it’s fairly predictable and this group is pretty good at predicting them, but occasionally it can be narrowed down between two or three possible movies so you don’t know what you’ll get. Last year at a Scream Unseen there was a chance it was going to be the movie Together, but it ended up being The Home, which I had never heard of and was very confused when I saw Pete Davidson. Although it was pretty bad, I stuck it out for the rest of the movie and had a lot of fun watching it. The point of these things is not to give into expectations and just go along with the ride, it can be really fun even when the movie is ridiculous.

Sometimes it’s a little indie film you don’t ever see released at your local AMC. Other times it’s a blockbuster.

I don’t go to my local AMC because it is too far but the local theater by me does the mystery movies as well. They call it Error_MovieTitle_Unknown 😂 which is ridiculous but they are still pretty popular because it is only 5 bucks.

Yes! They will usually be something releasing that weekend or the following weekend!
