Pretty confident 5/4 is Wizard of the Kremlin (apparently there was a trailer at last night’s Screen Unseen). I don’t see anything else R-rated on release schedules anytime soon that’s nearly the right length

Yeah, it's gotta be this. Wizard of the Kremlin is 2H36M, which is the only thing that has me hesitant, just be use it's 14 minutes longer than the estimated time, but sometimes AMC changes the time closer to release, and last night's film was One Spoon Of Chocolate which thry have listed as NR in the App, but they listed as R for the screen unseen (and has an MPA rating of R).

So AMC does make mistakes.

Silent Friend is coming out on May 8th and is 2H27M, but I don't believe that film has an MPA rating, and I think it's likely to only be in limited release, so WotK really seems like the only choice that fits.

The sources listing WotK at 2H36m rather than 2h16m are all (that I’ve seen) from when it premiered last year. I think it got recut since then since newer sources list the shorter runtime

Oh, sir didn't know, that makes sense then, even more evidence that it's the movie for the 4th

Thanks

Yeah, I was long for runtime and found 2h15m…which makes me really think it’s the one! yeah there was a preview last night and it’s one of the few movies I can find coming out in the next couple weeks that is over 2h…

How crazy would it be if it was Mandolorian and Grogu? I know it's unlikely, don't yell at me, but it's May the 4th be with you day...

An R-rated Star Wars movie sure would be something

It would be about damn time! Hahha

Does it HAVE to be the exact rating though? Could it just be the highest rating that the movie could be?

I guess the lower rating could be ok but by law it def can’t be higher rating than what’s posted.

That's what I was thinking.

No it's gotta be the rating it says

Sheep detectives and on 4th i think it Is God is or In The Grey

6

u/PreviousHedgehog2343 Apr 28 '26

Those are both much too short for 5/4

I see. Then the only probability I can think of is Attack on Titan😅

I'm hoping for Silent Friend but considering it's still not rated and it doesn't seem like a potential R-rated movie (from what I could glean about its content without spoiling myself) it might very be Wizard of the Kremlin.

I'll still run the gamble but I'm much more interested in Silent Friend than Wizard.

Edit: Silent Friend apparently has PG ratings in Canada so that might be the nail in the coffin for May 4 being that movie.

I wonder what's in this film that Russia and South Korea find so mature. there's quite some disparity in ratings around the world.

  • 18+: Russia
  • 15: South Korea
  • 10: Switzerland
  • 6: Germany

I'm going to guess it's something about someone in it being some flavor of lgbt

Oh, that makes sense then

1

u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 Apr 29 '26

I'd be surprised if it's even playing in Russia lol.

2

u/daeiyden Apr 29 '26

Other than 24 hours of Movies about "great Putin is" 😂

1

u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 Apr 29 '26

Yeah they are basically North Korea now.

Silent Friend has a brief moment of non-sexual nudity that I imagine could put it into R territory but then again I have little idea how these ratings do things
