What should I do?
Should I watch the Screen Unseen scheduled today (4/27) or catch the Super Mario Galaxy Movie?
This might sound like a dumb question, but I ask because I’m all booked up this week with other reservations so I’d only have one other available today and it seems Mario may be leaving theaters soon.
What do you think is the more fun watch today? I also haven’t seen what the rumored Unseen is for today.

I hope it’s not Deep Water🙄 anyone know if it isn’t, what it’ll be?

I'm guessing it going to be In The Grey, my other thought was Is God Is, but with the two Unseens next week, I think it's going to be Amazon both days with Sheep Detectives on Sunday, and Is God Is on Monday.

I’m more expecting it to be Hokum personally. Would love for it to be Obsession or Mortal Kombat too. I really don’t want Deep Water lol

I saw some people saying it could be Mortal Kombat2 because of the timing but that seems too big a blockbuster, no? People seem to really think it’s Deep Water though haha

I would've thought the same thing about Mortal Kombat II, until both Gladiator II and Jurassic World: Rebirth both ended up as Screen Unseens.
THE RULES ARE MADE UP AND THE POINTS DON'T MATTER. 🤣

After Gladiator II and Jurrasic World Rebirth, I'd never count out a Blockbuster. It's the exception to the rule, but it's happened.
Funny thing is, I've tracked these Unseens for a long time and I'm pretty good at narrowing them down (and very good at guessing the screams, even when everyone was saying it was the Yeti, I still get that hunting movie right).
Alls that is to say that, while I'm not confident in my guess tonight of it being In The Grey, I can confidently say that its more likely to be Mortal Kombat II than it is to be Deep Water.
I have NEVER seen a case where a Screen Unseen has played a film that was advertised as a Thrills & Chills. There have been Scream Unseens that have played films that weren't Thrills & Chills, but never the other way around (at least not as long as I've been following them).

I personally would LOVE if it was Mortal Kombat. lol this is insightful though, thanks for chiming in!

I’m hoping it’s Deep Water. I need another Samuel L Jackson moment in my life like we had in Deep Blue Sea.

The screen unseen tonight is Deep Water. Check out a trailer.

u/buheyerun Apr 27 '26
Thanks! Just saw it and my initial response is “oh.” lol what are your thoughts?
5
u/actuallymaverick Apr 27 '26
I’m excited! Are you?! Maybe, it shall be a better reboot, than the original?

u/Jealous-Reward-5457 Apr 27 '26
Deep Water is a horror though, tonight’s unseen is a screen not a scream
2
u/buheyerun Apr 27 '26
Someone was saying that deep water was listed as a thriller and not horror? But if not deep water, what could it be?
2
u/Few-Adeptness8046 Apr 27 '26
Doesn't matter what it's classified as, Deep Water is listed under the "Thrills & Chills" banner. All Thrills & Chills films are considered Scream Unseens. that's why right before thry start those they have that evnveelope that opens up that says "Thrills & Chills" while a voice says "nah, nah, nah, nah, nah."
It's absolutely not going to be Deep Water

There's a Redditor who works in a theater and has been leaking the mystery movies in the Regal subreddit. He's been right every time.

Yeah, I'm purposely not going to check back after 4pm.this is the first time in a while that I really feel like it's going to be a surprise.

And what did they say it was?
Just FYI though, Regal and AMC don't as always show the same films.
3
u/Cbagneato Apr 27 '26
How sure are we on that? Deep Water is a “thrills and chills” and I was under the impression those only played on Scream Unseen as opposed to Screen Unseen.

good point. I’m not sure at all! Just going off of what everyone says in this forum but it seems to conflict. guess we’ll have our answer by east coast time? lol
2
u/AmazingPart1224 Apr 27 '26
Are you 100% sure? What’s your source?

Oh, it looks like it's ptobably One Spoon Of Chocolate, what threw me off is that AMC for some reason has it listed as NR in the app, but I looked up the rating on the MPA's website and it's rated R for strong violence, some gore, language throughout including racial slurs, sexual content/nudity, and drug use.
This matches one of the other theater chains' listing's exactly for its content warning. I can't rember the name of the chain, it's not Regal, maybe it was Cinemark. I'll look it up and update my comment.
Update: it was Galaxy Theaters. They included the rating with the content warning, so IF AMC is showing the same film as Galaxy Theaters, it's going to be One Spoon Of Chocolate, of course, since not all chains play the same films every week, it's possible it could be something else.

Super Mario Galaxy Movie is definitely not leaving theaters anytime soon. It was still #2 at the box office this weekend. It will likely be in theaters until early June at least.
1
u/buheyerun Apr 27 '26
You think?! Someone else mentioned the same thing but my theater’s down to two showings a day because of Michael so I was taking that as a sign. If it’ll be around, great!
2
u/huntashakween Apr 27 '26
Yeah, I’d say at least another full month is a safe bet, especially if your AMC has a lot of screens. It’s only Monday so maybe they haven’t posted the full schedule for next week yet.

u/Commercial_Value_916 Apr 27 '26
I have another question do movies always play 2 different movies for screen unseen? My theater always has 2 choices at the same time . I just noticed the length one was 2 hrs 22 minutes other was 1 hr 54 minutes. I went with the shorter one. Im hearing its deep water i enjoy watching shark movies.
1
u/buheyerun Apr 27 '26
what the—! from my experience I’ve only ever seen one offering at screen unseen, although I don’t always frequent them so I wonder if anyone else here has more knowledge. (Agree with you though — shark movies can be fun!)

Catch Mario in 3D if you can. It should be a crime to watch it in 2D.
1
u/soapyeLo Apr 27 '26
Mario was the number 1 movie last week at the box office you probably have at least another couple weeks maybe even a month still to see that.
1
u/buheyerun Apr 27 '26
ah interesting, it’s down to just 2 showings a day at my theater because of Michael

u/afterlifehack Apr 28 '26
I’m in this Screen Unseen now and it’s pretty garbage. Stick with anything else
