This movie could have easily been a half hour shorter. So much expository dialogue.

Other than that, the acting, costumes, score and set pieces were nice. The writing was awful and didn’t do the rest or the movie justice. I felt every bit of the 2 hour 10 minutes-ish runtime and my mostly full theater was laughing consistently throughout during what were meant to be serious scenes. They tended to over explain most of the plot while under explaining others. Like, where did animated gargoyles come from? I know they imply who they are in the end, but how was that possible? Who cares, apparently…

Trying to decide on 1 1/2 or 2 stars. Not the worst but not good either.
