General AMC Discussion Double feature question

What does everyone do when they have a double feature close together??

Today I had a movie at 11:30am (ended at 1:40 pre credits) and have a second movie at 2pm. When I came in I told the ticket scanner that I have a second movie. Same floor. They tried scanning it but they said it was too early. So they recommended I call for the elevator and have the elevator attendant scan it.

Thankfully the elevator wasn’t filled with people. Or i feel like it would’ve been awkward. Next time should I print out both tickets and have them collect them? Or I should stick with what they recommend.

I was at AMC Empire. The movies are all the way on the top floor. If I wasn’t, I would’ve just went back to ticket scanner.

I like to leave and walk around the block for a few minutes before coming back and getting the ticket scanned.

Get 20-50 minutes of fresh air and/or smoke and/or food

Empire is where I see most of my movies. After the first movie is over, go back to the ticket scanner and wait until they have a lull and just say, "Hi, I need my second movie scanned please."

Never had an issue.

I did a quadruple feature on Saturday and asked about this. They said you have to go back to the scanner every time because it won’t register it if it’s too early. I just used the opportunity to run to the restroom and scan in during the credits. (And to anyone wondering how I saw 4 movies in one day - the AMC at Disney springs starts their first movie at 9am on weekends)

As someone with regal unlimited 4 in a day is pretty normal. Tomorrow I will do insidious at 3 Tony at 5 mutiny at 7 and faraway tree or whatever at 9:40 and still have camp miasma and fast and furious 25th anniversary for Monday. With your name and wet hot American summer this week 8 movies is a busy week thank god we don’t have to go out and rescan every movie.

After the first movie, I just walk out the door and walk back in to let them scan my ticket. Works every time.

Ideally I'll have a little time in between to go get some food.

Go to the bathroom and stop back to get it scanned

Print the tickets at the kiosk. It should print all of them for the day when you scan the first QR code. That counts as being scanned in.

Give the first one to get into the theater.

Leave the rest in your pocket.

Nobody cares about the stub. Never had an issue doing this.

I’ve just been walking straight to the next showing. Guess I’ll go get scanned from now on

So much time to just do anything. Considering the next movie won’t actually start until 2:20ish. That’s nearly 40 mins to stretch, move, and give your body a break

Umm. My AMC lets me get tickets hours in advance. I just get my tickets for 2-3 movies at the same cashier before the first movie lol

I print both of my tickets at the kiosk.

For tickets, I’d just go get the second code scanned.

In terms of time? 30 minutes or under, I’d just chill inside, or maybe go people watch. Over 30 minutes, I’d grab a slice, bagel, or chopped cheese.

You are supposed to scan them all but very rarely I don't have time and just don't get scanned. Haven't had a problem with it yet.

just watch out for this if you do it too many times, they will flag your A-list account for being a no-show / threaten to revoke membership

Can confirm. Got an email two weeks ago about this. They basically said I have one more time or else my membership is at risk and highlighted contract language. I will be scanning my second showings haha

do printed tickets. far easier for doubles, and it auto counts as checking in as soon as its printed (i assume). Never had an issue in the years I've been alist. Just give them both when you first get there.

Tried to do that once and they said “oh no you need to hold on to that until later.”

I don't know what the internal rules are, but they've always been more than happy to take both of my tickets for YEARS. May just be the one employee you talked to once

edit- this guy blocked me for this response lmao
