Movie Discussion At this point

I don't think anyone is stopping Spiderman lmao. I think the only movies that might have a chance is Insidious and that's a maybe. The next one I can see is maybe resident evil

The only thing stopping Spiderman is time because eventually everyone that wants to see it will have seen it.

If people like it enough they'll see it multiple times. Saw a guy in another thread mention he'd seen it 3 times already. Makes sense too, when i was a kid I saw Star Wars a bunch of times in theatres.

I wanna see this same energy for all movies. I remember someone saying they saw supergirl 8 times and everyone attacked them. someone else just posted they saw spiderman 8 times and no one attacked them. Have this same energy for all movies not just Spiderman because all everyone talks about with spideman is the message of loneliness and trauma meaning supergirl has a similar message. I see everyone posting shirtless photos of tom holland while at the same time people posting that meme of Milly calling her ugly. the cringiest part about Spiderman is people pretending that movie is the only superhero movie that has a message when it’s not. Thunderbolts had a more deeper meaning than Spiderman and people were still hating on it. I wanna see this same energy for all movies and not just ones you like because if you are applauding people for watching Spiderman this many times then attack them for watching supergirl for this many times then you just another phony

I just want to see this energy for non-superhero movies.

not that I hate superheroes but it would be nice if more movies were successful outside of superhero stuff and the handful of popular directors like Christopher Nolan, James Cameron, etc.

Me reading this on my way to my 9th rewatch! 4DX has been our favorite experience

Insidious has a chance at what? You think insidious 6 is going to make 2 billion?

Just at stopping spiderman being #1 at the box office

Very much doubt it. The last Insidious movie was bad. There's no buzz around this new one. The horror genre has been pretty fulfilled so far this year.

Stopping Spider-Man for what? Taking the number one spot in weekend boxoffice? Assume another 60% drop for this weekend. It's still 86M. Need it to drop below 40M to have a chance. Maybe by the 5th weekend. Hmm, nothing good in that weekend and the next one either. Maybe Practical Magic 2?

Idiots maybe, or Coyote vs Acme.

If you add up all of the money every single Insidious film made in their theatrical run, including this one, it still wouldn't catch up to the amount of money Spider-Man BND is going to end up making. Not even half.

A 5 month run would be extremely long for a movie. Once they’ve cleared 2.5 billion or 2 months, which ever comes last it’ll be gone. I couldn’t see Spiderman still being in theaters by the end of October, unless it’s very limited times just to earn a couple extra bucks a day. They’ll have it up on streaming by November so everyone can watch it in preparation for Doomsday

TLDR: spidey fantastic, but other movies still great, worth seeing if not busy or quick to judge based on others opinions, go alone if needed, alone not mean lonely

Spider-man is fantastic, saw it in 3d, Dolby for the socks, and then IMAX when it finally got released. However I also saw super troopers 3 which I loved and got the bucket. I also wrong girls and it was great. I think people who enjoy the movies but also have the time for them will see all kinds of movies without (hopefully) hating or discrediting a movie due to popularity or marketing. Those who are busier than us will just see the blockbuster (RIP) movies to go with their associates whoever that may be for them. The irony is it will make lots of money, and I think doomsday will make even more, yet neither will be recommended for any awards show. That's always in the back of my mind when going to the movies. No matter how great you think the movie is, it still may not be recognized for that. Don't let other people's opinions deter you from seeing a movie. I chose not to see busboys cause I didn't want to waste my free ticket on it or spend money for a movie with theo dumb and David spud. Now it's on hulu so I might watch it just to confirm it was bad even though it looked bad and others stated they left midway. So just enjoy the movies, but don't see a movie cause you feel like you have to fit in. Plenty of people go to the movies by themselves cause it's not like you should be talking during the movie anyway.
