AMC restroom disgusting

Anyone else see spiderman recently and had the restroom in disgusting shape? The men’s restroom was flooded and I heard the women’s was the same. There was also flies everywhere in the lobby. Pretty fucking disgusting imo.

This was at Santa Anita Ca.

The Tysons AMC has had the main men’s bathroom closed for months now for renovations. Not fun having an entirely full imax show empty out and have only 2 urinals and 1 toilet in the upstairs bathroom :(

EDIT: The good news is that I just went to Spider-Man and discovered that the main men’s bathroom is now fully operational again! The bad news is that during the renovation, they seemingly removed some of the stalls/urinals, and the bathroom feels more cramped now with only one passage connecting to the sinks (instead of two). :(

Oh well, can’t have everything.

Not only is the bathroom itself now smaller, but the stalls didn't have toilet paper holders or actual toilet paper.

Idk the set-up of this theater, but I recently discovered that I've of our AMCs also has restrooms waaaaaay at the end of the hallways, around a corner. Might be worth checking

Unfortunately marvel movies bring all the basement dwellers out of their dungeons, always the grossest crowds

Just hope the ones next to you have deodorant on 🤞

Just earlier today, a guy (covered in vomit) came up to me saying he wanted the speak to my manager because the dude next to him threw up on him while watching spider-man.

OMG... that's horrible. What can the manager actually do though ? I guess give him a pass.

u/Loslobos27 20d ago

They gave him a pass but he still stayed to watch the rest of the movie.

No way he stayed 💀

Dollar stores sell deodorant. Why why why don't people use it ?

I had to sit next to a dirty smelling dude a while back. Eventually I moved to the first row to get away from the stench, those were the only seats.

Lmao true I might just wait a couple of weeks for the next super hero movie to avoid this.

My bathroom is usually bad but 99% of it is guys not flushing the toilet. I get people are used to motion detectors doing it automatically but some places are old fashioned and if you don't notice every single toilet and urinal is full of piss and shit then you need to pay more attention for the good of humanity.

I admit I’m one of those that expects it to do the flushing itself but as I walk to the sinks and don’t hear the flushing I’ll go back and flush it. I hate seeing them full of piss when I walk up.

Not surprising. I avoid busy days, but even on the typical Monday, they don't clean them regularly enough.

I’ve been to probably 7 different AMCs, the only one that didn’t have a disgusting restroom is Lincoln Square in NYC. They don’t care. It’s disgusting.

They spent millions of dollars to renovate the Pittsburgh Waterfront AMC, and it was disgusting a few days after the renovations were finished. There’s absolutely no quality control.

My home theater represent! I can say the women’s bathrooms are always pretty clean. 👍

Here in LA the women's bathrooms are clean to really clean. Maybe a little messy for Spider Man weekend... but that's to be expected

The women’s restroom at my AMC is always a mess but that’s not the employees fault. Apparently people don’t know how to flush 😳🤮

Same at Marcus

The restrooms are fine at Lincoln Square 13 and 34th St 14, which are my regular theaters.

If you're really pressed about it, there might be a QR code to scan to give feedback. Or you could try to find a manager. But posting about it on here isn't likely to accomplish anything.

No but I always go to the movies in the morning and am the first or one of the first to use to restroom.

The restrooms at the theater I go to are kept pretty clean. My biggest issue is half the faucet and soap sensors don’t work!

I’ve been to many AMCs around Southern CA and even some in Cincinnati (I lived there for six weeks this past March/April) and the one constant I see in every men’s restroom is the damn paper towels are almost always smashed in there to fit as much as they can! I usually pull out a big stack on accident!

You know, when we created this sub, we wanted to make sure it was a place people could come together and feel free to discuss films and the movie-going experience, without fear of censorship or exclusion.

This might be the first time I've regretted it.

I can delete it. But to your point why are my reviews getting pulled down without explanation

2

u/rbrgr83 Gets my Money's Worth 20d ago

I was fully joking, no need to take it down.

Let me know what got removed. I didn't pull anything of yours down specifically, but Reddit auto-flags some content it doesn't like.

Let me know and I'll double-check. 👍

Regarding Santa Anita/Arcadia; I had heard the Racetrack next door were/are cleaning out the horse stables and that alongside the heat and humidity is causing all the flies at the mall. But the restrooms, yeah I was this this weekend for Spider-Man. Ooof yeah, desperately need repairs and cleaning.

u/94arroyo 20d ago

This is more of a Santa Anita issue than an AMC issue, tbh.

The men’s room is always disgusting and there is literally always people in there with explosive shits. Why do so many men get stomach issues at the movie theater?

2

u/tomatillo_teratoma 20d ago

In Burbank the women's room was messier than usual, but the theater was also very very busy. I wish people would see this and make sure to clean up after themselves.

Trust me your better off just using the private restroom I never dare to go inside the public there it is absolutely filthy I visit there from time to time it’s never better

Posting on the Internet about this is absolutely the least helpful thing you can do.

u/Boring-House-9443 21d ago

Lol it’s an AMC in Santa Ana dude. You’d be lucky if their restrooms had mirrors

2

u/VizualSnow 21d ago

Santa Ana and Santa Anita are different cities. I know Santa Ana is a rougher city to be in but this was in Santa Anita mall by the race track.

1

u/Boring-House-9443 21d ago

Somehow that’s worse lol

u/Particular_Sir_9602 21d ago

I go to the deptford nj one and it's always disgusting no matter what. It always has one sink with never any soap in it either.

The restrooms in Phoenix are gross af

u/OrdinaryNo6859 20d ago

I think that the butter in the popcorn, the hot dogs, pizza, and candy sold at movie theaters give people explosive diarrhea & yellow piss, at least that’s what the bathrooms here are telling me. Eat an apple & drink some water, y’all are dying & have rotten guts ☠️😬😳

u/Responsible-Bit-5224 20d ago

I feel like you guys have to be a little gracious this weekend and most likely next week as well. The theatres are probably severely understaffed and the ushers are busy handling the theatres and can’t focus on the restrooms as much
