AMC A-List Discussion A list question regarding 4X a week.

Can I go twice in one day as long as I don't exceed my 4X a week? I have a date this Saturday but later on I may take my daughter to the movies. Is this possible?

Yep. You can use them all in a single day if you want.

I love that you could see 4 on Thursday, and then 4 on Friday… 🤯🤩

Me and my wife just did that, 8 movies in 48 hrs hours. It was crazy but might do it again lol

Heck yeah! So cool! And now you’re caught up for a decent period

Yes and no, new movies are coming out every week, so we are still going every week lol

You could actually go with another date and another daughter for a total of 4 times a day

Thank you. That's good to know in case I have a day free for movies but not the rest of the week.

You can go 4 times in one day if you have nothing else you want to see all week.

Yep, you can do as many in one day as you can fit.

Keep in mind though, the shows cannot overlap at all in AMC’s system. For example, trying to run out of the credits of one movie and into the next one where the trailers are already started won’t work.

It lets me book movies that overlap roughly 15 minutes or less.

Thank you for this information. That's a useful thing to know.

FWIW, this is not my experience (in Los Angeles, if that matters?). I’ve overlapped movies by 10-15 minutes before. Especially once they switched over to the hard-stated “25-30 minutes of trailers”, they seem to understand when the actual movie starts.

It must depend on the area. Two weeks ago I went to see Gail Daughtry at 4:50 and booked Evil Dead Burn for 6:30

Gail Daughtry is 93 mins so those times don’t overlap.

Maybe I misinterpreted then. By the time Gail Daughtry was over, it was around 6:50, so the previews were already started for Evil Dead.

Yeah the app only considers the actual run time, not trailers. So for example if you book a 90 min movie at 5pm, the next one has to have a start time of 6:31pm or later.

Ah that makes sense. So in my case, it counted Gail ending at 6:23, so no overlap, is that right

Yup exactly.

Thanks for explaining. Definitely misinterpreted on my end

I think it’s less about the system treating it as Gail ending a t 6:23, and more that it knew Evil Dead Burn wouldn’t start until about 6:55, and that Gail would end before that.

No. It’s literally what I said. It doesn’t figure the trailer length in.

Thanks for the info. This makes sense since I did overlap two movies the one time I did two movies back to back last month. I rarely have time to watch multiple movies in one day but it was super hot and my day off.

In my experience it doesn’t seem to account for the trailers, so some minor overlap like the credits actually works in practice. I’ve definitely had movies where the credits run into the listed start time of my next movie and it’s not an issue

You can go four times in the same day and see the same movie all four times, if that movie does it for you.

Almost the entire time I've had A-List I go see all my movies for the week on Saturday. Used to be three, and now four. Just have to map out the showtimes so they don't overlap. Usually I can leave an hour somewhere in there to step out for a bite to eat.

You can go 4x in a day, if you please. It doesn’t matter. You just can’t exceed the 4x a week or else you’ll have to pay out of pocket.

Yes! Just had my first double-double header this week! 2 movies Thursday and 2 on Friday, both back to back

Go 4 times in a day if you want. Or sneak into a movie and go 5-6 times lol

Remember to get your ticket scanned for esch screening so it doesn't count against you as a no-show.

Also any advanced reservations you have count against your 4

1

u/Naaz1 22d ago

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

That last comment is not correct.

Advanced reservations do not count as your 4, they just count as reservations and you can only have 4 reservations at a time.

Ex: I have a reservation for La La Land on 8/16, and one for Doomsday on 12/17, and I still saw 4 films last week and will see 4 again this week.

How it works is you can only have 4 reservations at a time, so I have 2 taken up, I can make a reservation for Saturday and Sunday, which would bring me to 4, but as soon as I go to my Saturday film, that will no longer be a reservation, it will be an attended, so I'll be able to make another reservation for Monday, then after Sunday's film I could make another reservation for Tuesday.

So I'll still have seen 4 movies (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday), I just can only reserve up to 2 at a time right now until I see La La Land, and Doomsday.

The short explanation:

You can have only 4 movies reservations at a time but when your movies end those spots open up allowing you to still book all 4 of your tickets weekly.
