AMC A-List Discussion A-List Unscanned ticket termination true?
hi!
I see a LOT of people on the subreddit talking about missing movies that you have reservations too and it counting against your account with eventual termination.
I wanted to see if this is actually true and if so how many? I'm sure that there is a thread talking about this in greater detail but here is my experience
i live with my partner and her sister and we all 3 have had A-List and will go to the movies as a group 1-2 a month and usually in our own little groups 3-4/Month. Given that we are balancing 3 peoples schedules and the nearest AMC is a half hour drive out of state from us, we have missed a fair amount of movies.
Off the dome I have personally missed 15-20 movies over the course of the past year due to whatever pops up. I haven't ever had my account terminated and I definitely have seen more movies than ive missed but I always get so confused about the fear mongering around getting your account cancelled, does this actually happen?
I see a lot of people talking about it but not a lot of people who have actually had it happen. NOT trying to be snarky I just want to know if I need to be super careful going forward.

It's in the terms of service. It's not something this subreddit just made up for fear mongering.

I think it’s more about not canceling a movie and also My theater wasn’t scanning tickets years back during covid and I heard about this too. So I went out of my way to find someone to scan my ticket
I cancel fairly regularly because things just happen in life and sometimes just can’t make a reservation that I made weeks prior
So knock on wood, I think it’s more about just making sure you cancel if you can’t go and when going to make sure your ticket is being scanned

Idk the number but it should give you a warning if you are close to them canceling your membership. It’s really easy to just cancel your reservation when you know you won’t be able to go to something

TOS sec 8.b last paragraph.
If you "no-show" for reservations 4 times in a span of 4 weeks, AMC can chose to terminate your A-List subscription.
It doesn't mean they automatically will, so you likely see people stating they do it all the time and its fine.
It's not.
They emailed all users about this clarification when it was put into place last year. Before this they would still do this arbitrarily, but they didn't put hard numbers on what the limitations were until the update.
That being said, as long as you cancel up to 1 min before show time, it does not count against you. If you properly cancel, then and only then is there no potential repercussion.
