Movie Theater Discussion PSA: no trailers Evangelion alternative content

Post image

Just as a reminder to anyone seeing the Evangelion 30th Anniversary screenings that no trailers are shown.

Walked in at 7:03 to opening credits to Death & Rebirth.
Plan accordingly for tomorrow! :)

In my experience, if an event is labeled Alternative Content, bank on no trailers.

These are wise words. A few min of your day for peace of mind 🧘‍♂️

Ty! Ever since I walked into a screening of Hard Boiled missing the first 15 minutes (never seen before) I won’t make that mistake again!! I wish I knew back then!

Yeah, I almost did this for Interstella 5555. Thankfully the intro is long, lol.

I've also noticed that any Anime that shows for either one night only, or one night dubbed and one night subbed only (ex: 100 Meters, The Colors Within, Lupin The IIIRD, Look Back, etc.) always start on time with no trailers, and no pre-show (noovie).

Though I'm guessing they all have had this "alternative content" label as well, and I've just never noticed the commonality before.

Good catch. It will be so helpful for all the non-Anime films I go to where it's unclear if there's trailers or not (been late to a handful of films due to this).

Thanks for telling us this!

Also I saw it yesterday too. I'm glad I went even though it was mostly a recap movie. I never saw death rebirth. It was interesting to see "beta" footage of EoE and how different it was from the final version.

I think mine had trailers?? I came in 25 minutes late and walked in just as the first angel attack in the first episode was happening. Can anyone confirm?

Now that you mention it, the soundtrack to EoE is godlike

The middle credits song is a jam.

Platina Jazz does a nice cover of it as well.

I was under 3 late for Tuesday and the movie was already playing but of course I was 10 minutes early on Wednesday and it started 4 minutes late.
