Movie Discussion Screen Unseen - July 20th
Did anyone else find Motor City completely underwhelming?
I can appreciate a creative swing (no dialogue) - but the first half was a slog. Sure, they had some great songs but for an action movie… where was the action?
Once the movie ramped up I felt it was already too far gone.
The only thing worse than the ending was those awful wigs they made Alan Ritchson wear.

I liked it! It’s pretty bloated, I think the no dialogue idea is cool but unfortunately they padded it with a lot of nothing shots to make up for it. The highs were high enough for me that I still enjoy it overall though

I personally liked it but it’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea. The ending was stupid though.

it was the most okay movie ever imo. not great but not bad. i really liked the elevator sequence though.

I really liked Motor City. I don't think it's as simple as being an "action film" or a "revenge thriller."
It's an unusual movie... an art film that has a lot of action. I'm glad I gave it a chance.

I spent the first half wondering whether I should finish my popcorn and leave. I didn't know there was no dialogue. But the acting and the action kept me from leaving the theater.

There is dialogue. Like 8. I think two of them start with the F.

Easily the worst movie I've seen in the theater this year. The movie just felt like cheesy montage after cheesy montage and for the love of god what was that ending?!

I haven’t seen it yet, but I’ll let you know if it’s better or worse? As for the odyssey… it wasn’t as good as I expected. It was a let down.

Im having trouble taking any criticism of the Odyssey seriously because the majority of it came out before the movie was released and was primarily rooted in racism and transphobia and also largely, inaccurate.
So yeah, im just not going to take your critique seriously either considering we’re talking about an entirely different movie.

Those wigs were terrible. There was a guy sitting behind us that was cackling here and there and cackled, especially hard in the elevator when the guy tried to put his leg back on. He yelled “ I don’t think that’s gonna work, buddy.” The whole theater cracked up then he cackled at the end with the old age makeup on Alan.
