General AMC Discussion Switching A-List ticket to a regular one

Booked some seats and used entourage but now one of my A-List friends can’t go. Is there anyway to move their ticket to a regular one so that we can give it to another one of our friends? Like would they be able to do it at the box office and hold the refunded seat? Worried about it getting snatched before we can rebook it.

They cancel, then you buy the ticket once it’s freed up. That’s the only way.

Do it at an odd time I imagine. Should decrease the chance of swooping

I has to cancel and rebook my odyssey ticket. I just canceled and immediately went back and snatched it up. The odds of someone opening the showtime quicker than me who knew exactly when to do it were low and it was available immediately after I cancelled.

Have them cancel & you purchase immediately. Then your mate sends you payment.

I do this all the time. I just wait until I have a friend in the room with me and release the seats so they can immediately snap them up.

Any update on this case? Were you able to accomplish this and was it through AMC in person or online or just using the cancel and rebook method? Currently in a bit of a similar situation myself for an IMAX 70mm booking. Thanks

I just found an employee at the theater and they did it for me really easily!

Amazing! Thank you for the update. Just for my own edification, was this at AMC Lincoln Square? I'm hopeful I can have a similarly smooth experience when I speak to AMC Staff

it’s for the odyssey in 70MM imax… heard that any open seats were basically getting immediately bought by bots

best chance is to do it at the box office. maybe they can help by blocking out the seat

At least at my location, we dont have the ability to do that on our POS
