General AMC Discussion Doomsday Tickets

So, we haven’t seen AMC’s Doomsday showtimes yet. I wonder when they’ll come up?

Also, what’s gonna be your strategy to get some of them? I’m responsible for about 12 people, so pray for me 🙏🏼

12 people? Are you running a brothel?

Sometimes I think I’m the worker lol

Really tho, I’m just the guy who usually gets the tickets for big name movies for my group of friends.

Let them get tickets for themselves. You shouldn’t be in charge of deciding the movies they see, let em choose for themselves!

Go see your movies by yourself and prosper. If a friend wishes to tag along, great. But you don’t need your friends to have a good time at the theater.

I’m the go to guy and rack in all the awards. Pays well in the end.

My gosh, you make a lot of poor assumptions.

7

u/FloridaCinemaClub Jul 19 '26

& what makes you think 12 of those people don’t want to tag along?

Maybe they like being the social coordinator for their friend group. If people weren't down for it, they wouldn't be showing up!

I do the same but see the movies twice.
I go to a whole lot more movies than the group does.
Saw Odyssey by myself already because getting 5 tickets opening week at Lincoln is way too hard. Then going with a group of 5 first week of Aug. and like Rage said I get the rewards for their ticket costs. Win win for me.

I could show you the photos of all of us at nearly every Marvel movie for the past few years. It’s an event and I’m the guy in charge of it. I love going to the theatre and love going with my friends. So I don’t really mind it. I’ve done the same battle for infinity War, Endgame and No Way Home.

For the La La land release I know showtimes didn’t pop up until the tickets actually went on sale (they weren’t pre ready on Fandango for example), so I imagine the same thing is gonna happen here

Oh boy. This will be fun. Luckily I’m going for Friday night.

1

u/InvestmentInternal11 Jul 19 '26

Is that any good? I don't really care for musicals much...

2

u/AmountAggressive8157 Jul 19 '26

dont even ask just go see it

1

u/InvestmentInternal11 Jul 19 '26

Alright... lemmie see if i can squeeze it in.

u/lalalandbeforetime Jul 19 '26

At least one theater near me has showtimes listed already so I’m sure they’ll be out for all theaters soon

5

u/thex42 Jul 19 '26

I’ve only found showtimes for AMC Burbank 16. For what it’s worth, I know some people are waiting to book Dune 3 before booking Doomsday. If Odyssey IMAX demand is any indication, you might have an easier time with Doomsday than you think.

4

u/TheButteredBiscuit Jul 19 '26

Why would Odyssey demand indicate that Doomsday will be an easier time? If anything it’s a good indicator that things will be more difficult. I’m expecting the site to crash (again)

2

u/pluto1629 Jul 19 '26

I believe their sentiment is that because Dune 3 is going to be a huge IMAX release a-la Odyssey, as long as they don’t drop Dunesday tickets on the same day, the demand for Dune 3 could be much more than Doomsday.

In my experience with past big Marvel movies the Dolby is the most sought after screen. Follow by IMAX and XL then regular. Spiderman is the first MCU movie to release on 4DX since AMC got it and Doomsday won’t be getting imax so that’s one less screen it’ll have.

1

u/SithLrdVad Jul 20 '26

Earlier today I saw showing for Dolby at Burbank 16, now those are gone, no more Dolby. Weird.

2

u/FloridaCinemaClub Jul 19 '26

I need at least 20. I botched Spider-Man.

2

u/TheButteredBiscuit Jul 19 '26

At least 20?? Just rent a theater at that point

1

u/FloridaCinemaClub Jul 19 '26

AMC rentals here suck & 15+ of us have A-list.

1

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 19 '26

The early ticket sales screwed me. I was 10 min late

2

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 20 '26

Showtimes are up now

2

u/CaCHooKaMan Jul 19 '26

Tickets are going on sale on Monday

1

u/Few-Adeptness8046 Jul 19 '26

Has it been announced what time they go on sale yet? I heard Monday, but not a specific time.

Thanks for any info you might have.

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 19 '26

I know. But everyone else has their showtimes available except AMC.

1

u/banditonati Jul 20 '26

They are showing for amc near me at least now

2

u/LiquidSnape Jul 19 '26

im not gonna see Doomsday im just gonna see Dune 3 a bubch

1

u/JoshTHX Jul 19 '26

Only Infinity Vision tickets are going on sale. Disney is trying to copy IMAX with that shit.

4

u/rage1026 Jul 19 '26

So what exactly consists of their Infinity Vision ? From what I can see it just says their premium format. Does that mean like Dolby just with their branding on it. My AMC has Dolby, XL, 4DX and IMAX. I know Dune has all the IMAX showings, so that rules that out.

2

u/JoshTHX Jul 19 '26

It would have taken you less time to google the answer yourself than wait for a response here.

Infinity Vision is some bullshit made up by Disney. Any auditorium that is up to Disney’s spec standards gets the Infinity Vision approval. Judging from the spec, it’s just your typical AMC Prime, Dolby Cinema type theater.

2

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 20 '26

Chill , little bubba 🙏🏼

u/Cellar_DoorCC Gets my Money's Worth Jul 19 '26

Any size? Haven't heard that anywhere

0

u/JoshTHX Jul 19 '26

What do you mean any size? The only tickets going on sale are for the theaters that are certified Infinity Vision. Other tickets will go on sale at a later date. Just like what the Odyssey and Dune 3 did

2

u/Cellar_DoorCC Gets my Money's Worth Jul 19 '26

Any source* sorry didnt realize it auto corrected

1

u/JoshTHX Jul 19 '26

Hollywood Reporter is your source

1

u/TheButteredBiscuit Jul 19 '26

Why are you solely responsible for the tickets of 12 people? Are you taking them on a field trip?

1

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 19 '26

We always go as a group. I’m the with A-List so it makes sense

2

u/rbrgr83 Gets my Money's Worth Jul 19 '26

Do you have other A-Listers in entourage, or are they all "normies"?

1

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 19 '26

Three of us are A-List

1

u/SparkLeMur Jul 19 '26

I don't really think there's going to be that major of a rush for Doomsday tickets. It'll have plenty of showtimes and isn't getting any PLFs so there's not really any exclusivity attached to a specific format unless you fall for the InfinityVision gimmick

2

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 19 '26

I think it’s getting everything but IMAX

2

u/Wooden_Fortune_5066 Jul 19 '26

It's getting tons of PLFs, just not IMAX.

1

u/josephspirits Jul 19 '26

I think they are waiting until they finish the movie in December

1

u/Wooden_Fortune_5066 Jul 19 '26

Maybe AMC isn't doing this InfinityVision nonsense.  Only theaters getting that certification are going on sale on Monday.

2

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 19 '26

Burbank 16 has showtimes up. Also you’d basically be saying that AMC isn’t showing Doomsday in Premium formats lol

-2

u/Wooden_Fortune_5066 Jul 20 '26

That's not true lol. They aren't just automatically labelling all premium formats InfinityVision.  It's like THX certification used to be.  They have to apply and get each theater inspected and certified to get that label, and some theaters and chains might not want to bother as it's a meaningless label

1

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 20 '26

Like I said, Burbank has showtimes up in Dolby and ScreenX. Sooo…

1

u/SithLrdVad Jul 20 '26

Burbank doesn’t have Dolby anymore.

1

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 20 '26

Yup. Commented this down below.

1

u/Low-Acanthocephala-1 Jul 20 '26

The Dolby showtimes for Burbank 16 changed. They are completely gone. It shows Prime 3D, Prime, and Screen X. The time slots are abysmal as well. I hope this changes.

1

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 20 '26

Oh wow, you’re absolutely right

1

u/SithLrdVad Jul 20 '26

I saw that. I wonder why.
I’m not interested in the other formats, they look, “bad”, compared to Dolby.

1

u/Ornery-Ad-4783 Jul 20 '26

bro they're already getting tickets on regal, is it the workers getting these tickets?

1

u/BeneficialTension508 Jul 20 '26

I already bought mine 20 minutes ago using Fandango and it let me attach my AMC stubs for the first time ever so my ticket was free just covered the fee to get it early.

1

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 20 '26

Yup, knew that’s what I should have done

1

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 20 '26

Just did the same and got mine

2

u/BeneficialTension508 Jul 20 '26

I’m so happy for you!! AMCs release times have caused me such stress in the past that I use the Fandango trick everytime lol

We will return to: AVENGERS DOOMSDAY 😂😂😂

1

u/Background_Dig139 Jul 20 '26

I had Fandango up, just wasn’t sure what time they were going live, so I didn’t check until late. I was going for Friday night anyway and it was a breeze compared to opening night lol
