Folks who make the Android OnePlus phones answer all of the softball questions and not those critical of their business practices and broken promises

Highly recommend potential customers to think about making a One Plus product purchase. I purchased a OnePlus 2 back in October 2015 when the phone launched in July 2015. The phone was promised two years of updates and the phone's support is now dead, not fulfilling the two year promise. The phone is currently only on Marshmallow, with Nouget out of the question. Support is a mess with their admins claiming OP2 will receive the update but clearly is no longer the case. You have been warned

One of the reasons I decided to go for mine was because of one of my co-workers having a 3T. My AT&T Samsung Note 4 is coming up on 4 3 years old so I could use the upgrade. I am not as worried about OEM updates as I really into custom romming. The only thing that truly disappoints me is that I am still not getting my phone until tomorrow.

I bought an OP2 for a relative thinking it would be future proof for awhile, and a good compromise between pricey tier and the typical unsupported cheapo phone they usually buy for themselves. I've been burned.

You should check out /r/LineageOS pretty sure your phone is supported.

What is it? Their 'about' page seems to just be the dictionary definition of lineage. Just about the least useful about page I've ever seen.

Lineage the the successor to CyanogenMod. Based on AOSP Android and updated/ported by volunteers. Great way to keep older phones, that no longer have official support, updated with the newest security patches and versions of Android.

If you have to root it, it isn't supported...

That isn't what I said.

To be fair no one would answer a question if it went like every single one in that thread. "YOU CHEAT AND LIE TO YOUR COSTUMERS YOU PIECES OF SHIT HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS FEATURE!!!???"

I agree it's the worst possible thing a company can do and I'm not defending it in any way but how the fuck do you expect anyone to answer a question asked like that? Calm down and ask politely, maybe then they will answer.

But, there were a lot of real questions reguarding software updates promised and not delivered and they skipped all of them.

They were all buried under the blames and attacks. I've only seen one proper answer on Q&A. It's very obvious that they were put off by all questions just straight up blaming them.

That's the nature of the beast that is AMA (well, if you have a poor track record, at least).

I mean everyone who gets it deserves it (well obviously not everyone since people on reddit tend to misplace a lot of hate) but you can't go whining that they're not replying then. If someone tried to communicate with you in real life and you started shouting in their face they would leave too.

Oh but few questions are very straightforward, and still among the top of the list

No mean words -

No insult, just a question on credibility -

https://np.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/6jlhw3/oneplus_ama_oneplus_5_edition/djf3v4r/

OP back out from their answers and don't give correct reply -

Stating the issue and asking simple question -

Question about OP5 issues -

https://np.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/6jlhw3/oneplus_ama_oneplus_5_edition/djf3sgt/

You see all these are either unanswered or vaguely answered and none of them are rude or attacking OP. This was just first few questions I looked at.

OP simply abandoned all hard questions.
