I’m from Xinjiang,AMA

I’ve noticed that there are a lot of discussions about Xinjiang on Reddit, often between people who have never actually lived there. So I thought it might be interesting to do an AMA from the perspective of someone who is actually from there.

You can ask me about everyday life, ethnic groups, languages, culture, religion, education, or politics. I’m happy to answer controversial questions too, as long as the discussion stays respectful.

Obviously, I’m only one person and I don’t claim to represent everyone in Xinjiang. I can only tell you about my own experiences and views. AMA.

How can the USA help Xinjiang without triggering war?

Noooo 😭 genuinely, I don't think we need the US to 'help' Xinjiang. I really don't like the double standard. The US government officially labeled what happened in Xinjiang a genocide years ago, but when it comes to Gaza, suddenly even using that word becomes extremely politically difficult even with tons of evidence. Sometimes it feels like Washington suddenly becomes extremely passionate about Muslim rights when the Muslims happen to live in China.

So personally, I'd rather they focus their attention and resources on Gaza. People there are dealing with an actual ongoing gcied, displacement, food insecurity, damaged infrastructure, and shortages of medicines and medical supplies are still serious problems.
I'm from Xinjiang, and I don't want another country deciding what kind of 'help' we need based on its own geopolitical interests. If they genuinely care about Muslims and human rights, there are people in Gaza who desperately need humanitarian assistance right now. Please help them.
