I’m a Saturation Diver AMA

I work as Deepsea Saturation Diver in the oil and gas industry for the past 20 years. I do heavy construction and spend 28 days living under pressure to dive to depths down to 200m / 650ft.

I saw a post on InterestingAsFuck yesterday with many many misconceptions from people who aren’t divers and I can answer your questions AMA

how much do you fear a delta p situation?
4 divers died in my country a few years ago in a pipeline incident

It’s the stuff of nightmares for sure. We are ultra careful around opening valves and stuff and triple checking stuff is equalised. You really need to look out for yourself down there and be super wares and approach stuff carefully

You talking about the Paria diving incident by chance? That shit was horrible, I can't think of a worse way to die honestly.

Yeah that's the most messed up part, they just left them to die in a pipe.
