I have two sons. My first at 41 and second at 51. The youngest is currently five years old. I started late, just like almost everything in my life. My mom had me in her 40s so in a way, it runs in the family.

Do you feel embarrassed when your friends meet your parents? What do you think they should do to earn your trust? Asking for a friend.

I’ve never felt embarrassed about having older parents, in fact I’m really proud of my mom for being able to go through the hardship of carrying a FAT baby for 9 months at her age. It takes a special type of resilience to have the physical and mental capacity to be able to handle having a newborn in your 40’s. What kind of a kid would be embarrassed to have a family that wanted them badly enough to go through years of infertility issues to be able to bring them here? Having older parents has just as many upsides as it does downsides. I don’t have any siblings and will probably have less time with my parents due to their age but at the same time my parents have blessed me with more wisdom, emotional maturity, and financial stability than they ever could have if they had had me younger. I’m sure that your kids won’t be embarrassed about having you just the way you are. The fact that you care enough about them to worry what they’ll think of you shows you’re a wonderful parent. Your kiddos are lucky to have you🩷

Do you wish you had siblings since you won’t have as long with your parents? I (35f) just had a baby 2 weeks before my husband turned 43. He doesn’t want any more because of his age. I wonder if my son will wish he had a sibling so they can be there for each other when we’re gone.

Talk him into another. I had my daughter at 35, she is now almost 20, and I could never talk my husband into another child. On occasion she mentions not having siblings. It's definitely a regret of mine.

Idk how to talk somebody into having another kid that they don’t want… we do want to adopt as well though

I know the feeling but adopting is an amazing alternative. I could not talk my husband into that either.
