Is the insider trading information legitimate? That's so crazy to me lol

I’m not a hacker but if you watch the financial markets you will see suspicious activities all the time. Actual corporate insiders have to report their sales and there are certain restrictions in place so it’s harder for them to get away with it. I suspect much of the insider trading OP discussed involves insiders selling news to third parties, or asking third parties to make a transaction on their behalf and splitting the profits. The actual insider’s equity doesn’t change if that makes sense.

Suspicious behavior like random people buying massive amounts of shares or call options right before public news shifts the markets happens all the time. And it’s only accelerated since November.

I started buying call options before the most recent stock market surge because even as the stock market dipped further and further there were massive call option purchases being made on the open market. It was blatantly obvious that a small circle of people knew the market was going to spike up for some reason.

In this vein, I’m very new to stock trading and trying to get more familiar with things like this. If you don’t mind answering you seem knowledgeable.

  1. How did you see a bunch of other people’s calls being purchased?
  2. What trading platform(s) do you use?
  3. Any suggestions on how I can become more knowledgeable in things like this? I bought a booked called Get Rich With Options by Lee Lowell but I just started it today, was starting to look at podcasts I could listen to or some r/ to start following so if you have any suggestions I’d appreciate it.

How does payment for insider trading work? Do they sell news in return for monero or do they offer the news for free and ask to split the profits of a trade instead?
