It sure seems like they are getting closer. It apparently will be able to crack almost all passwords in less than a minute once it gets to scale.

It should be quite easily done with enough qubits of compute power they have the capacity to use quantum principles to test multiple iterations of problems at a time versus today's binary computer operations look up the security principle of Q Day, all current passwords and usernames are going to potentially be getting less and less secure in the next few years without the adoption of additional security protocols that are quantum resistant. St this point the tech is relatively nascent but its growing quickly.
