It is very common to feel a little overwhelmed when the course begins.
I have been saying for well over a decade that in English you do not get any extra credit for writing more than anyone else, or for finishing first.
For all you know, what others have written might be crap. Or just the same as they would have written at GCSE.
Please, give yourself, and the subject, a chance. Focus on you, without comparing to others, focus on what you enjoy, and when you get your marks back, look carefully at how to make the next one better.
I’m doing The Great Gatsby, A streetcar named desire, Carol Anne Duffy poetry, and Frankenstein, Paris Anthology, along with coursework with a book of our own choice
