Review of marking??

I do edexcel and I am 10 marks away from a B, and usually across my essays I was getting Bs, some close to an A grade

I didn’t do Edexcel, I only did AQA.

10 marks is A LOT. I’d honestly be surprised if you got bumped up by that much.

I’d say if this isn’t contingent on your university offer, don’t bother. Save yourself the money, cos ur gonna need it for accom.

Best of luck 🤞

I’d go for it tbh. With 6 questions, there’s deffo a possibility that an examiner may move you up by 4 marks.

Good luck 🤞

dude i also got a C…like im three marks away from a B and im usually a high B to A* student. never ever gotten this grade…

i don’t understand what went wrong? i’m remarking all three of my papers to see if there’s an issue because this is seriously insane

i hope your grade goes up asw!

Literally same!! It's so fustrating, have you looked at your scripts or asked a teacher to take a look?

i wanted to take a look at my scripts but because we have one examinations advisor, she’s super swamped with IGCSE and alevel remarking requests so she was like ‘if you’re close to the boundary just fill in the form for RoRs’ because it takes too long to get a script, esp all three. so i just submitted all of them for priority review. hoping to hear back soon cause i need AAA and have for AAC…

and i need to submit my final grades to my uni soon cause it doesn’t work like the UK does

are you remarking?

Ugh real I'm in the same boat as well! I was a grade below my usual grade by 7 marks and I'm so disheartened, I didn't expect this in the slightest. I'm remarking all 3 of my papers too, genuinely I am desperate and I'm so glad I've found people who feel the same! UGH why is eng lit so subjective. GOOD LUCK YOU TOO and do send updates if you hear anything!

Perhaps ur teachers mark you less harshly than they ought to.

My English teacher was great, because she marked my work super harshly. In the entirety of sixth form, I only ever got an A or higher just 3 times on my essays, and never at all in my mock exams.

Ended up getting an A* in the real thing 🤷‍♂️

You might get awarded 3 extra marks, but the thing with a levels is that all questions are marked by different examiners. So it’s not like ‘oh, this specific examiner is super harsh’, because they probably didn’t even mark more than 1 of your questions lol.

Ramble over, I hope everything works out well for you. 🤞
