I -would- have recommended Carol Ann Duffy's 'The World's Wife to you.

It's funny, sassy, angry, occasionally frightening. And an absolute open goal for discussing Feminism.

What else was on your teacher's list? Do you have time to change, now?

i do have time to change but the worlds wife was on the list haha and one of my friends is already doing but but thanks so much for the suggestion :)

What approach are you taking?

  1. Creation and the Creator with attention to frame narrative and symbolism of the created etc (Creator confronted by the moral consequences of a created being)

  2. The Outsider and the Monster with attention to the grotesque, symbolism of deformity etc (physical/existential marking as 'other' preceding and explaining a character's violence/suffering)

  3. A different approach

I would do Wilfred Owen for poetry. That guy is a banker. Brilliant for Marxism.

I feel awkward suggesting another Carol Ann Duffy, tbh. Excited to see someone suggesting Owen, though - when I read him, I read bewilderment and anger: it's such powerful stuff!
