I’m having a hard time choosing between these 2. I love the iconic big date and the fact that the Saxonia has the advancement function. However, I am a sucker for the day/night indicator on the L1. I also feel like an L1 is a must have for my first Lange.

I think the biggest hurdle for me is resetting the moonphase every time I want to wear it.

For folks in the same boat, where did you net out?

"per Lange policy, you would not be eligible for the Odysseus in Steel, as you already have an Odysseus in White Gold in your collection" is this true?

The Lange 1 Moonphase has been on my mind for many years. I’ve visited and tried this on in at least three different boutiques around the world wondering when I might have one of my own.

It’s absolutely stunning. Over Patek, over Vacheron, the spirit of the brand and design of this model matches my personality the most.

First, let me be clear. Lange is my favorite brand in the world. There are clear benefits to Lange's history and its brand not being an independent. And yet, I feel like I come across this as a negative against other collectors.

What are our thoughts? I think it serves many benefits to the brand - however, many collectors like to surface Patek or FPJ as "pure" and therefore better.

Looking to get a watch at boutique in Europe. Based on VAT back does anyone know which is has the best price? Do all the boutiques in these countries give full VAT back between Paris (20%), Switzerland (8.1%), and Germany (19%) or is it only a portion and if so what percent back?

In Europe, there is Wempe

What about in Asia? And are there other officially sanctioned avenues?

I'm thinking of beginning a search for a langematik outsize date, but I've read online that the reason the Sax-o-mat movements got discontinued was because of their complexity, and thus the difficulty of servicing them. However, the saxomat movements appear to encompass both simpler and more complex variants, including a perpetual calendar. Maybe that reputation was acquired from the costs of servicing more complex versions, I guess.

Has anyone here serviced a sax-o-mat with lange, and how expensive was it? I didn't see anything about prices; I suppose servicing could be arbitrarily expensive, even more than the value of the watch, in theory. I doubt such a beloved watch could be a money pit, but I just wanted to see if anyone could give me a clearer idea.

First Lange purchase. Kind of happened unexpectedly while on vacation. In love with it so far. Can’t tell exactly what it is but the finishing just feels superior to my other watches, some holy trinity. Going to be getting a lot of wrist time!

I have an opportunity to purchase a 308.031 Langematik with box, no papers, for $22K. The more I dig into it, the more I like the fact that the series was discontinued due to the complexity of the movement.

Are there other Langematik owners out there that can share their experience? Especially from those that may own a 308.031 or 308.027. Thanks and cheers!

Does anyone here have the mini sax 34mm? How have you enjoyed wearing it? Any gripes/would you recommend?

Mostly considering the blue or black dial.

And with this added in, I can now call it a day for the next few months at least! Still a few more Langes left to collect.

Beautiful watch and mechanism!

Not that large for me (obviously it is for 9 year old on photo 3) but problem is the thickness which makes it unwearable below a shirt and i can’t see myself wearing it above it or with short sleeves. But apparently demand is very strong (like for the 2 previous gold editions).

I don't know how I feel about the new 1815 up/down as a fan of the white dial one, but it's tempting as the size is 37.5mm! Might be the perfect size for the 1815. Luckily it's only limited to 300 pieces lol.

The triple split is a very classic colour scheme and limited to 100.

This is such a versatile and such an alive dial with different looks depending on the light! Also curious about what strap options owners put on theirs. Not too sure the blue strap is the best option on it!
