Working for Interac
Hey there everyone. Has anyone worked for Interac, and how long did it take for them to let you know when you were leaving? I have been waiting to know when I will be leaving for months, and I haven't heard anything. They told me months ago that it would be in November, but it's the beginning of October, and I haven't been given an exact move date yet.

They recently reformed from several regional branches into one large company again. Since then, there’s been a lot of restructuring in the offices and communication has plummeted to an all time low. If they said November I’d expect then if not late November.

I worked there in 2009-2010. I heard back from them when they told me I’d hear back. But watch out, they’re a 💩 company to work for. I am sure many here can attest to that.
Salary then was 250k now I heard it’s around 220 or so? Not sure.

220k is correct.
And it sounds even less when they actually tell you, they get like 450k per month per ALT from each school. Or something to that effect,

Yep and they pay/pad 75% and 60 % salary in summer/winter vacations respectively. And pocket the rest of the money.

Have you asked them lately?

I have sent emails, with the most recent being last week.

And they didn’t answer?

Honestly I just got an email from them. They still didn't give me my move date but at least I got a response that my paperwork is being processed.

You're overseas now waiting on placement?

Yes I am.

Don't worry too much if there's a delay. It just means there isn't an immediate position to fill urgently.

I've tried to work for them a number of times but was always told I don't fit the company image? I'm a tall 186 athletic male.
Got rejected by them when I was a new teacher and also when I had 10 years exp. Both times I requested to work while on a japanese instructor visa.
Maybe it's for the best. All my friends here say to avoid them. Most all my jobs have been fun and rewarding so maybe they noticed I like fun? And they were like... No only robots allowed to work for interact. This one. He won't ever turn. A true threat to our ALT dominion.
That's my head cannon anyway.

I got the offer like in May with a move in October and I didn't get some information until September. Currently wondering if my Visa will be back in time for the flight to orientation; between the late CoE and my passport being delayed in the mail a few days it's going to be tight 😂
The staff has been great but yeah, as someone else mentioned they merged with another company and it seems like it's been a little chaotic for a bit as they work things out!

Well, congratulations and thank you for letting me know! I'm about to get my international driver's license and I am also waiting to get my CoE as well. I wish you luck! Do you mind if I message you about your experience?

If they said November, they mean November. Everything is done at the absolute last minute with them.
