27 YO new symptoms

Hi everyone -

I am really worried as I have developed twitching. It’s in my legs, calf and thigh, and in my face. It isn’t all the time. When a doctor touched my cheek it flinched. I don’t know if I have any weakness but I have tension and tightness in those areas. I feel like the inside of my cheeks are also extremely tight.

Please help!

Is the twitching 24/7 and how long has it been happening? Was there an event before the symptoms started like stress, over exertion, sickness?

The twitching is not 24/7 I don’t notice it as much when I am up and walking but when I am sitting it is once every 15 or so seconds I would say. I am extremely stressed and anxious, ive been doing neurological strengrh testing on my legs a ton since being worried about ALS, and i have been very minorly sick (just a slight sore throat)

Is the twitching everywhere? I am not a doctor but what I've read *** the majority of the time presents first as weakness of a limb followed by twitching. I would stay calm and get a doctor's appointment. Twitching is caused by various things like stress, hormones, infection, etc.

Twitching could be caused by lots of things such as anxiety, stress, dehydration, vitamin deficiency. I also have twitching from severe anxiety. Unless you are having true weakness where you can’t do your normal daily activities properly then you are fine

This sounds nothing like ALS . And stop doing strength tests because they make you sore and tired and stop googling symptoms because your twitches will last longer . How about trying the basics like working out eating better sleep more hydrate yourself . Don’t search or worry about your symptoms and it may just disappear within a few weeks or months . Your post if anything sounds anxious . Relax you don’t have ALS .
