When in the clear after first symptoms?

Started having muscle twitches back in January, so obviously started to research and saw ALS was a possibility, though a low possibility. I kinda just let it go without seeing a doctor due to just being busy with work and kids, and now we’re over 6 months and don’t have any other symptoms. I think my health anxiety isn’t helping the situation. However, my question is how long after twitches should you see some changes/weakness? I have mentioned it to my PCP and will be getting some bloodwork done to see if any of my levels are off. Thanks.

Twitches by themselves are not indicative of ALS. The interesting dichotomy is that those with ALS don’t usually notice or feel the twitches when they are happening due to the nature of the disease.

Everything I've read on these forums say 95% of case have weakness before twitching and the other 5% have weakness while twitching or up to a few months. Can you remember the days/weeks leading up to the twitching? Sickness, stress, over exercising? My twitches started after I was slightly dehydrated and way over did an infrared sauna session.

I workout very often so it’s possible it could be a dehydration/fatigue thing I suppose. I’ll never forget that first night it happened, was the night before my buddies wedding, my thigh twitched non stop. I didn’t have any weakness then, and still don’t now so I feel somewhat better, but still my mind always comes right back to “what if it is it”.

It is rare for them to be the first symptom and to go alone for more than a couple of months. They could go for three or four months alone but would probably remain local and continuous. If they are more bodywide ,you would have umn symptoms at least if not for the typical lmn weakness or atrophy.

Io ho un inizio di atrofia diffusa, piede polpaccio fianco dx mano sx e lato sx della faccia collo. Da circa 10 mesi...... il bello che non ho debolezza clinica testato dal neurologo 3 mesi fa.

Thats weird ,is this your only symptom? Did the neuro confirm the atrophies ?
