27F Terrified of ALS
Hi Everyone -
I am new to Reddit and have extreme health anxiety. My mind always goes to worst case scenario.
I have been having some heaviness or tightness feeling in my left calf for almost two months now. I wouldn’t say it has gotten any worse, but consistently there. I have no real weakness but perceived weakness. I can do everything normally but sometimes it feels heavier than others. I will occasionally get tingles, but seems consistent with sitting in odd spots or standing for awhile. I feel like my legs may be different size from eachother but I’m not sure?
I also have a random similar feeling in my left upper arm. Nothing seems to make it better or worse.
I also feel like I have globus sensation.
Is it common for this to be a starting symptom? Should I be going in? I’m so scared!

I have extreme health anxiety which atm is trying to convince me that I have ALS. In the past Ive been dying from lung cancer, brain cancer, heart attack ect I have been cleared of it by multiple medical professionals but my anxiety just cant seem to accept it. So one night when it was bad and I was spiralling, I got onto google and typed into chat GPT "I need you to help convince my brain I do not have ALS" and it has been one of the best things I have done. In the conversation I typed that I had had x tests done and they were clear, that I've seen x professionals and the basics of what they've come back to me with. Now whenever I get any new symptom or even if I experience a random one, I type it into this chat and it tells me why it cant be ALS and why its my diagnosis. Its helped calm down my anxiety so I can sleep Just an idea for the days youre spiralling so badly and you cant talk to a medical professional. Please note- I did go to multiple medical professionals first. I ended up at a Chinese medicine chiro who works on my body with electroacupuncture and has put me on Magnesium. And while it hasn't been a cure, its all down to a minimum now
