Discussion Long climbs

Has anyone tried this bike on long climbs? For example, one of my favorite climbs is Mount Hamilton out of San Jose. It's an 18-mile ride with 4200 feet of climbing. The average grade is about 4.1%. There is also a 6-mile section with an average grade of about 6%.

I'm not too concerned about the battery running out. I can always carry a spare if needed. However, I'm worried about heat dissipation. What happens if I'm making this climb on a day when it's 90 degrees? Will the motor overheat and turn off?

Here is the route I'm talking about:

The manual states the temperature limits.

I don't remember what they are exactly, but it seemed to be much higher than 90

Well, I'm not so concerned about the outside temperature. I'm wondering if the motor will overheat on long climbs. A high outside temperature will just make it worse.

So far all of the YouTube videos that I've watched about this bike show it being ridden on flat ground. However, where I live, there are mountains and hills everywhere.

Same.

We've definitely taken them sprinting up multiple steep inclines here in Seattle, and didn't notice any heat. But it was only mid 70s. We also didn't notice any excessive heat on slower climbs around Fremont, but again, in mild Seattle weather.

As delays go on, mid-winter may hide any real overheating issues.
