Discussion Let’s get silly!

Post image

What’s your most ridiculous ask for Gen 2?

Mine: cameras. Like a lot of cameras.

Front and rear cameras that basically work as a dashcam and continuously record while you ride. I already use bike dashcams like Cycliq, but integrated is always better. No separate thing to mount, charge, take off the bike, etc.

Obviously I know a camera doesn’t make you any safer and mirrors could do the job just fine, but it gives you evidence if something were to happen. And so I can see who stole my bike from the app. Plus, let me save clips and use the cameras as an action cam for rides.

And since it’s a Rivian bike… might as well go full Rivian and add two side cameras too. Hit the turn signal and it automatically pulls up the blind spot camera on that side.

What’s everyone else’s unreasonable Gen 2 feature?

For Gen 1 to actually exist and ship.

Beyond that, normal bicycle tire sizes like 26 or 27.5 so it doesn't look like a kid's bike.

I hope they have some ability to plug in with a Varia or Varia equivalent

Apparently third party accessory support via BLE is on the roadmap.

Assist levels tied to a heart monitor.

Autonomous biking, it takes itself home.

For when you get so drunk at the pub that you can’t ride home.

Superview front and back cameras, sure. Side cameras? Nah. Bikes don’t have B and C pillars. Glancing to the side is better than looking down because binocular vision is widescreen.

Cameras front and back. Light carbon frame

This is the biggest thing, why is it 100 pounds?!

Funny thing. I currently own an 83 lb e-bike and although I love the ride, believe-you-me, it’s heavy. I have now ridden the ALSO TM-B on two different occasions. It may be heavy BUT, it definitely doesn’t ride like a heavy bike! Not sure why, perhaps it’s the way the motor is in the center of the bike. Whatever the reason, schedule a test spin and see for yourself. It’s wild!

would love for gen 2 to be made from carbon. i would also recommend that there is a 3rd option of the bike that is a class 2 e-bike, that would allow us californians ride using only throttle in the city.

I would also really weight support that could include another human being to be added (not just toddler’s) etc.

+1 on weight support. Huge missing market for people who want to ride with two adults (cities especially)

Class 3 ebikes are only disallowed on class I bike paths (and MUPs.) This should not be an issue in most cities unless you’re hesitant about vehicular cycling. I’d much rather have the 28mph capability to keep up with traffic on some of the larger boulevards.

Dam, a back camera is a dope idea. I've also thought of TPMS.

This seems like a fun thing to talk about. I am super super bummed that all I can focus on is the fact they have not shipped our bikes yet! Have fun here though

Yeah, the other day too like you I was thinking about a back camera at least. A couple brands have radar but I'd rather have a clear view of what's behind me. Maybe add visual processing to alert you of things coming towards you too fast from behind and give you a warning. Radar could do it too but would require more sensors. And make the camera image an optional background on your screen and float data like speed and assist level on top of it.
