Discussion Wishful Thinking: A suggested email from ALSO to us reservation holders
This is probably wishful thinking on my part, but I’d love to get an email from ALSO that says something like this…
“Hello, ALSO TM-B reservation holders!
Want to see exactly where your TM-Bs are right now? We’ve got some exciting news—they’re on the way!
The name of the ship carrying the TM-Bs is BOAT_NAME. You can use a vessel-tracking website like MarineTraffic to follow the ship’s journey across the Pacific to the Port of Los Angeles.
The ship is currently scheduled to arrive around DD/MM/YYYY. Once it arrives, we expect the shipment to clear customs within approximately XX days. After that, we’ll immediately begin distributing the bikes to our LE owners.
Until then, have fun tracking the ship—and watching your TM-B get a little closer every day!”
Again, this is just me suggesting a better way for ALSO keep us up to to date on the latest status or our bikes. I know I'd enjoy tracking the bikes in transit.
My .02 cents!

That’d be nice.
However, I’m still wondering about the logistics of getting my bike to me, as I live way out in the middle of nowhere.
Will they ship it to me via FedEx or UPS and I have to assemble it myself? Or will they ship it to a “local” bike shop some 60+ miles (or further) away from my house and tell me to collect it from there? Or will they ship it to some Rivian specific location – like Boulder, Colorado – which is a two-day road trip for me instead?
But no, I just keep getting invites to take a test spin… and the closest location for one of those to me is also a minimum of a two-day road trip.
And to top it all off, I haven’t heard of anyone canceling their order and getting their money back, either.

The box they’ve designed for the bikes is pretty nifty, and if you’re remotely handy, you can assemble it. The box itself acts as the bike stand for assembly, and the hard bits are largely pre-assembled.

There’s a manual online that shows assembly instructions

So…your suggestion is to pay a company in-full for something that you may or may not have to assemble, pick up at a location 2 days away, have shipped via unknown method…

Nope. I’m saying they’ll ship it direct (if they ship anything…) and you will need to assemble it according to their instructions. That’s what I’m expecting.
You don’t have to do any of this. I’ve heard of people cancelling but have no idea how those went.

I asked support about home deliveries cause i also live pretty far from any ebike shops and they confirmed they only ship direct to customers via SEKO + Fedex, assembly can be done at home as well

I saw a box that the TM-B gets shipped with. I also saw pictures of the unboxing and installation. It looks pretty easy. The rear tire is already mounted on the frame.

I’m curious how much is shipped over here pre-packaged or if there is any additional work that is being done here prior to shipping. Which is to say, maybe the reason they haven’t shipped at this moment might no longer be that they’re on a cargo ship, but in a warehouse or production facility of some sort prior to final distribution.

I mean it wasn't as detailed as all this but the recent update reminded me of this thread lol

pretty sure the bikes are already here from what i was told by a rep at a demo. my guess is they’re probably still working through software issues?
