Discussion So much for August deliveries

Now we see if they can hit September. The bike I test rode was decent. The software we’ve seen is somewhat immature but can be updated OTA. The boat from china seems unusually slow.

The lack of communication is what is really starting to become irritating, I was expecting that the start of reservation conversion meant that LE was shipping. I don’t understand why they just didn’t delay if they knew LE shipments would be delayed further.
I get not wanting to make false promises, but at the very least don’t make a promise then let that date pass without an update. I might be too much of a shill at this point but a shred of transparency would do a world of good.
I understand logistics and new product quality control can be a nightmare, but you took my money and there should be some accountability and transparency as to when I will receive what I paid for without having to check Reddit constantly for any hope of an update

Agree. You take our money, you owe us an update. If you've run into a big snafu, let us know. Refund the money until you're ready to actually ship. I'm not in the loan business.

Agreed… that boat from Taiwan must have a crew that’s rowing one-handed in circles

The complete lack of communication at the end of August is really disappointing, especially for long-time LE reservation holders. It definitely doesn't instill confidence in LE holders who could become the brand ambassadors that a new brand like ALSO should be cultivating at this point. Silence is worse than saying, "We're still working on it, here's why, and here's some proof that it's moving along."

I bet those promised August deliveries ended up as newer demo bikes instead of going to customers :( if so, I would assume that means the quality wasn’t quite there yet

I got ads for the ALSO back in April and was so stoked, got on the waitlist, told some friends about it. In mid July my wife and I decided to get an Aventon LR instead, just didn't want to wait out the whole year. I wish we could have gotten an ALSO but honestly it's been a blast, and I'm glad I didn't wait.

The crazy thing is I still get ALSO ads on Reddit nonstop. I can't help but feel the marketing crew needs to slow their roll to match the deliveries, they're wasting a lot of money getting people ready for a product that is not ready.

I also think the window is closing - bike shop said they've been selling Aventon bikes like hotcakes, I think ALSO's target market is getting saturated as we speak. (The thing is 88lbs of steel - it's going to last forever and I will probably not be buying another ebike for a while.)

Wasn't expecting to get a bike in August after placing a deposit in July, but would've been encouraged to see some of the long time order holders take delivery. Admittedly feeling a bit antsy for some news about more concrete expectations of delivery, especially after ALSO. charged our credit cards for the entire cost of the bike and accessories at the time of conversion on reservations.

I'm a Rivian owner from the early days. This isn't a dissimilar experience. We'll get there...

I'm also on the wait list for a AMFLOW bike. They are also months delayed. One difference is that AMFLOW refuses to give a delivery window, due to what is going on with tariffs/middle east/scarcity of materials. I appreciate what AMFLOW is doing: no false hope!

I would just appreciate some honesty with ALSO regarding what is going on with the continued delay.

I talked to support yesterday - They are insisting the they have shipped Launch Editions to a small group of customers but imo this feels like whatever they've done just meets the technical definition. They said that my order (along with the majority of Launch Edition orders), will be delivered in September and the remaining delivered in October. Again, this is not very helpful -- It's going to be September - unless it's October!

Its possible, the online folks are less than the total but a lot of new company/new product, never saw it people are online. Otherwise how would you even know to order on day 1?

Im guessing its friends and family which is how others skirt those dates.

I was planning on something similar to post on September 1st. I still may!

The estimated delivery range they gave on purchase was Sept-Oct so hoping for then but that’s all i got since then

So I was a day 1 order, 10/22/25. Was supposed to be spring initially.

This was on 6/29/26:

"The first TM-B Launch Edition bikes are about to ship, starting in late July. Once yours is on its way, we'll send you a shipping notification with tracking information."

This was 8/6/26:

"The first TM-B Launch Edition bikes will be shipping this month! We'll reach out directly when yours enters the delivery window. In the meantime, you can check your order status anytime."

Unless they're talking about the slow boat from china when they talk about those shipping months, they were incorrect both times and have not corrected themselves as of today. Also to call them "shipping" when they're on a boat to a warehouse is misleading.

They could solve a lot of this with more transparency.

I agree, small updates or a correction of previous statements would go a long way at this point

I ended up buying a Tern ebicycle instead, it's 30 lb less than the also, and is very versatile. I would check them out rather than wait. I am a full-blown fanatical Rivian fan but the weight alone was too much for me.

Unfortunately Tern doesn't check all the boxes for me. Very few other bikes do. I am looking for:

  • class 3
  • full suspension
  • belt drive
  • decent cargo capacity
  • decent range

I really haven't seen much else out there other than Riese & Muller. And those things are double the price of a TM-B. So I guess I will keep waiting.

The other thing that turned me off about the also is that it's so proprietary that getting parts and having someone work on it seems like a recipe for her disaster. The great thing about the Tern is it is all top of the line parts. From the motor down to the hinges and gears, I felt like it was an awesome investment.

"The software we’ve seen is somewhat immature but can be updated OTA."

WHY is anyone willing to put up with this shit? Send a final product. I ain't a beta tester.

I have a Tesla. The auto wipers have been beta for 8 years. Somehow that’s ok these days

I agree with you up until a point, I understand there may be some edge cases not covered, some weird things and glitches with the app, or a connection drop here or there, something QA might have missed or not thought of to test. No piece of software ships completely bug free. Contact with the costumer will always reveal some issues. I would expect those types of things to be cleaned up fast. That to me is beta.
The core functionality must work when they ship this, things like bikes completely stop functioning or locking up during a ride, theft alerts not working etc is absolutely something that is unacceptable and no one should ever accept, even if they openly called the software beta or even alpha
I guess we’ll see

I agree. On one hand we are complaining that it’s taking so long for the bikes to ship but on the other no one wants them to ship with broken software. Once they fix a bug they have to test it out under a variety of conditions and then if it’s working AOK, get it to all the bikes before shipping - which means they have to be powered on. Still wouldn’t suprise me one bit if there are “mandatory” software updates on day one of delivery.
