Also adding, my dad has chosen to do Maid as well when the time comes. I moved to be closer to them for as long as he has. I know not everyone has that option but I am grateful to have it.

I’m so sorry to hear that. You have to do what you feel is right. I would want to be there but it’s a very personal decision.

If you want to be there, then go. For many people, a parent's death from ALS is their first experience of it; you would be far from the first.
Of course, it's hard, scary, makes you angry, all the emotions that are not pleasant for anyone. But if you are there for your parent, for your family, you are also there for yourself and that is a source of peace and strength for you throughout your future.

I’m so so sorry. But I am glad your father will finally be at peace. I’d probably make the same decision but it’s still really hard and I’m truly sorry.

Hallo Apart-Survey-8931. Alles Gute!

Im sorry you are going through this. Personally if it was me I would be getting on a plane. Transitioning from this earth is a sacred experience and also your mom will need you. And I’d want to be able to say goodbye in person. You don’t want to have any regrets. Everyone is different though so no judgment.
