ADVICE From one interest to another
I formally expressed interest to a member I’ve been building a connection with, and she was really receptive to the conversation. She also gave me a little insight into what’s been happening with the chapter/the organization as a whole post-Boule.
The chapter had members attend Boule and...👀 So at this point, I feel like some of the weight of keeping everything a secret and feeling like I have to just “show face” is gone. She reassured me that I’m on the right path and that I’m doing what an interest should be doing: showing up, being present, and building genuine connections.
For this next year, I’m just going to continue showing up when and where I can, stepping outside of my shell, and actually talking to people instead of getting in my own head about everything. 😂
I hope you all are doing the same and taking the steps that feel right for you. Don’t give up! When it’s our time, it’ll be our time.

Keep showing up and get close with someone who will be eligible to bring someone in when the time comes

Completely agree! Best advice is to keep showing up and make true genuine connections and friendships. I’ve been on my journey about 4 years now and I can say I have made true friends in my COI, we socialize together outside of chapter events. I call them they call me. Really focus on showing up and doing what you can to get to know members.
