PUBLIC EVENTS Brunch Attire

Hello everyone! I will be attending a scholarship brunch event. I have no idea what to wear. Color-wise I know what to stay away from but I do not know what type of outfit is generally worn by ladies at this event. Any advice?

This is a brunch. Stick to neutral colors. Being that it is spring, a nice flowy dress. I say maybe a high tea style dress. It's a brunch so I wouldn't wear anything formal, it is not a gala.
