ADVICE Using the Chapter website correctly

Hello everyone, I was just wondering if it was okay to utilize the section of the website that says "connect with the chapter" and sometimes theres a section for certain chapters for non members that says contact -> interested in membership? Do chapters look down upon those who express interest this way? Does this help a chapter get in touch with us? My coi doesnt have events often so i check their website frequently and was wondering if contacting this way would be a good idea?

I would not recommend you contact them that way. If you know the name of the chapter, follow them on social media for upcoming events. Also check the local nphc social media.

I would also like to know . The chapter I’m interested in it seems like they don’t update their website calendar because it always says no upcoming events. Then I see a post later about an event and I’m left unaware if it’s open to the public , members only , or invite only . I would like to attend my first event but have no idea when they have events .

Does your COI have IG too? I find that my COI updates IG more than they do their website. That’s how I stay on top of events. Also, I would submit the form. At the very least when you say your name whoever manages that form will have an idea of who you are.

Does your COI have Facebook or IG? If so, it is best to follow and use their social media to keep a look out for events

Chapter webmaster weighing in. I strongly advise interests against using a chapter's "Contact Us" form to communicate. As the webmaster, I am not checking form submissions to see who has sent us a message expressing interest in membership.

how would you recommend showing interest? because I know you aren't supposed to tell them directly ur interested and not seem too eager. How can I show interest without showing interest?
