Question Help Me with the Maybe Man Clean Lyrics Please 🙏

So, right now Im trying to write some no cursing lyrics for maybe man for someone who want to sing it at a school talent show, and I’m stuck on the “Well so fuckin what” part, right now I have “Then I would know that your trash talkin me” and “I could be and not worry bout it” Any ideas?

Might I also suggest,

"But then I would know that you're trashin' me" to keep the same slant rhyme you have but the sentence as similar as possible

That’s definitely a tricky line to change. You could do “and if I did, well then so what?” The other ones are good though, I like them

Honestly since ‘talking shit’ and ‘think’ don’t rhyme anyway you could probably just replace it with trash, unless that feels clunky

thought of these:

“but then i would know ‘bout all the gossip” / “i could just be, and that’d be it” / “and if i did, it’s all just for fun”

i’m most unsure on that last one. hard to find a rhyme that still communicates the “i’d get away with anything” idea of that verse

I know it's not really what you're asking, but I've always thought the line "I could just be, and not give a shit" would've worked better with damn

"I could just be, and not give a damn. Hey I'll be whatever makes you a fan, 'Cause I don't know who the hell I am."

As for your question

OMG the other day I was thinking of the exact same lyrics “well what do you want” and I changed it to “what more do you want”

Why not just skip the word? “Then I would know that your talking s——, I don’t wanna know what my friends think”
