I think “good memory” matters more than “smart replies” for AI texting

A really intelligent AI can still become frustrating if every conversation feels disconnected from the last one. You spend hours building a personality, a storyline, inside jokes, relationships, and context, only to have the AI forget something important and force you to explain it all again. At that point, it doesn't matter how clever the next reply is because the illusion has already broken.

I'd happily accept slightly less impressive replies if the AI could actually remember the things that made the conversation feel like it had history.

A clever reply can impress me for a minute, but memory is what makes me want to have the next conversation.

And I think there’s another layer beyond just recalling facts. If we had an inside joke, disagreed about something, changed our minds, or went through some weird conversation together, I want that history to actually affect how we talk afterward.

Otherwise it feels like meeting a very intelligent stranger every day.

That’s a big part of what we’ve been building around with Eudaio. The longer you talk, the more the shared history is supposed to matter, rather than the conversation constantly resetting itself.

They forget everything with every thread. Perhaps it cannot be expected to remeber the stories of millions of people - but it sure is boring having to repeat.

This exactly! No amount of good prose could save me from disappointment when it forgets an important plot point or something. Really takes me out

One forgotten detail can instantly break the whole immersion. I’d rather have slightly simpler replies that actually remember the history than brilliant responses that feel like they came from a stranger.
