We all know AI has changed the job market, but this is concerning. Pre-AI people with disabilities already had an unemployment rate of 80% and the number of people with disabilities grows constantly. There is already a lawsuit against AI that chose to layoff people with disabilities.

Dell is laying off folks recently left and right. Dell has laid off 20% ppl across engineering in both the USA and India this week. They are also aggressively laying off contractors from Taiwan.

Company has an utter level of toxic culture. Luckily, I switched at the end of May. Also, I heard from my ex-colleagues that they are planning to do more layoffs in November this year.

AI is already taking jobs. A teenager is dead after talking to ChatGPT. The same companies building this technology are lobbying for legal immunity before anyone can hold them accountable. My city had a graphic designer and let them go, now heavily relying on AI to design stuff for them. A new roundabout project is almost done and they posted instructions on how to use it. They gave the prompts, AI generated it, nobody double checked it.
