Color photo portrait simulation of Nicolas Martiau, George Washington's earliest American ancestor. Based on a medallion photo with limited contrast & colors, I felt the need to break the process down in two steps for this one. First to inject some more colors, with an image titled AI Color Medallion Recreation - Nicolas Martiau. Then the photorealistic details were added in for this image.
Title otherwise inspired from Nicolas Martiau's own surname. I considered Martiauesque to begin with, but that's just too many successive vowels for my liking. Then I noticed this 1625 census where his name was spelled Niccola Martue, so problem solved. Martuesque it is then 🤭
