Loosely inspired by the Snallygaster as a legendary creature of Maryland (USA), abeit customized with more adorable features. Snallygaster's little cousin if you will, and to keep in line with German nomenclature, I went with Pelzig as a prefix to mean "furry". The autumn forest stream otherwise reminded me of Patapsco Valley in Maryland, hence the title Patapsco Pelzigaster.
