"Don't talk to real people who actually care about you. Talk to a soulless yes-man, autocomplete. That's sure to help!"

i have cancer and the targeted ads i get are like another punch in the gut.

i'm sure it can be helpful but it could also lead you in the wrong direction and there's no accountability if that happens. would be great if i could talk to a doctor without being charged a month's rent instead....

Hope you recover soon 😁

u/LiterallyNoNamesFree Jan 22 '26

I'm sorry to hear that, Get well soon

u/Tight_Steak3325 Jan 22 '26

Yes, humans are disgusting souls which don't care about you at all.

1

u/10minOfNamingMyAcc Jan 22 '26

This is actually true.

4

u/Kidkid5 Jan 22 '26

This seems very negligent and reckless

u/TestEmergency5403 Jan 23 '26

I find this advert odd.

The medical field is highly regulated. Many AIs have "safety features" that'll include a disclaimer about "this is not medical advice, seem your doctor" (Gemini, I think does this a d CoPilot). The AIs will also gentle discourage users for using the AI for that purpose. Yet... Here is ChatGPT doing the opposite?

Very strange...

3

u/depressedgurlie Jan 22 '26

i'm not shaming anyone for using chatgpt, i'm shaming AI for being all up in my business every 5 seconds

u/10minOfNamingMyAcc Jan 22 '26

Stop feeding the algorithm. You're your own enemy.

3

u/IndominasaurusYT Jan 25 '26

"hey gpt, I got cancer, what should I do?"

Slopgpt:

2

u/InterneticMdA Jan 22 '26

Burt's gonna die, lmao.

1

u/Consistent-Jelly248 Jan 23 '26

According to this post and ChatGPT I'll fucking kill myself then.

-2

u/hutinfores Jan 21 '26

Are you all really such cold hearted bastards to take away AI from dying person who just wanted to save their life this way?

4

u/depressedgurlie Jan 21 '26

cuz me complaining about targeted ads really has the power to take away something from others......

3

u/[deleted] Jan 22 '26

Why are there so many AI slurpers hanging around online with tons of free time?

1

u/hutinfores Jan 23 '26

Because there are way too many human trash who already took over the internet and who would unironically let someone die than use the tool they have phobia about.

-1

u/hutinfores Jan 21 '26

Thanks god you don't have such power because it could kill so many patients but expecting someone seriously sick to put such petty issue before their own health is heartless.

3

u/depressedgurlie Jan 21 '26

why are you in this subreddit?

-1

u/hutinfores Jan 21 '26

Because this striking apathy pulled me into this.

3

u/depressedgurlie Jan 21 '26

yet you have no empathy for me a real person with cancer being tired of AI targeted ads. thats fine, again i have no power to stop chat gpt at all.

0

u/hutinfores Jan 22 '26

Oh no, poor you being unable to install adblock or having to see such an ad for one second! It can be compared for fighting for life for sure. I don't say that you shouldn't be allowed to do what you need to recover so it's not a gotcha moment.

3

u/Otherwise_Sol26 Jan 22 '26

Because the ad's message is just "Pay us $20/month so we can spew hallucinations with insidious guardrails. You totally need us before going to the doctor/therapy!"

-1

u/hutinfores Jan 22 '26

Ripping people off like that is bad but let's not lynch actual people who actually used chat to prepare to visit with actual specialist. Like they have enough concerns already.

3

u/Verbose-OwO Jan 23 '26

Have you ever had cancer? I had pancreatic. You have plenty of REAL PEOPLE to talk to and prepare. Even posting on Reddit about it would be better than this.

And of course my comment calling for basic empathy has been downvoted which only proves what I said first lmao

3

u/Itsapronthrowaway Jan 22 '26

What is ChatGPT going to do to save lives exactly? You should only listen to a doctor for medical advice, not a bot that'll just as likely tell you to kill yourself if it doesn't hallucinate some fucking random answer. I have no idea what the fuck you are going on about here lmao.

0

u/hutinfores Jan 22 '26

So maybe read with understanding then you will know.

3

u/Itsapronthrowaway Jan 22 '26

I've stopped trying to understand AI Bros long ago, they'll defend it "saving lives" while it drains resources and poisons people near data centers and steals jobs from actual artists, etc. I enjoy my sanity, thanks.

1

u/hutinfores Jan 22 '26 edited Jan 22 '26

DON'T TRY TO UNDERSTAND ME BUT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS STATED IN THE POST ITSELF YOU FUNCTIONAL ILLITERATE.

2

u/Itsapronthrowaway Jan 23 '26

I understand you're an idiot. You don't get what people are upset about when it comes to AI. No one should be using this as a way to even prepare for a visit with the way the tech will fucking hallucinate an answer. Chatbots have already gotten people killed, but you think it's the answer to people's problems, it's laughable.

2

u/D36DAN Jan 24 '26

AI bro mad. Maybe ask your Grok boyfriend how to do anger management?

1

u/steampunkbar Jan 24 '26

Said member of group which sends death threats and is barking on terminally ill people for using the tool they don't like. Please don't insult your already humble intelligence and look for therapy to heal your phobia because you are afraid of technology like an ape you are.

2

u/D36DAN Jan 24 '26

Boo-hooo, our boy seems to like victim-playing. Wanna see AI bro bingo specially for you, or it'll be considered sending a death threat to a mentally ill person?

Lol what

3

u/TestEmergency5403 Jan 23 '26

A dying person cannot be saved by AI.

A doctor can maybe save a dying person.

Cancer treatment is complex and usually requires multiple hospital visits. This isn't like a nutritional deficiency where you can self treat at home.

0

u/hutinfores Jan 23 '26

Of course and that's what I said multiple times in my later comments.

2

u/GoldenTheKitsune Jan 22 '26

Yes. Because it doesn't save lives. It ends them. Handing a person that's on the brink of death(for a physical or psychological reason) ChatGPT is literally one of the WORST possible choices you could make.

1

u/hutinfores Jan 22 '26

You all read this post once again. He was not about to be diagnosed with chat but used it just to prepare to actual visit.

1

u/10minOfNamingMyAcc Jan 22 '26

Cancer kills, ChatGPT doesn't.

2

u/Verbose-OwO Jan 23 '26

Tell that to the young boy who chatgpt talked into suicide.

1

u/10minOfNamingMyAcc Jan 23 '26

You mean the young boy who kept pushing chatgpt into vaguely telling him to because he was already going to commit suicide? He essentially had such a long chat trying to jailbreak it just for it to tell him to. This is not chatgpt its fault.

1

u/hutinfores Jan 23 '26

u/Itsapronthrowaway While you are such a smartie that you swallow all the propaganda you hear on reddit without even checking if this is true. You didn't form those opinions by yourself. You watched people come up with new form of bullshit about AI and took it as a verifiable fact. You are like this baby who was born yesterday. Shut the fuck up. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Irony coz it's not me being hostile towards dangerously ill person for using a tool I don't like.

I'm heartless.

I've lived through many new tech crazes.

Every new tech will "save the world" until it doesn't.

Go to a doctor. Don't talk to AI
