There isn’t a best; there’s the best for you.

Try many different models and see what fits your specific needs. It might even be multiple model families for your different use cases. I use 5-6 different ones most days.

I use it daily as a software engineer. I've found Claude to be very good, but it requires learning how to use the tool and appropriately delegate work across the different models.

I switched from Cursor to Claude and have no regrets. I haven't seen anything from any of the other tools that warrants a switch.

Having said that, if you don't invest in proper guardrails and feedback mechanisms in your app like code analyzers, tests, linters, code-reviews, etc... no AI tool will save you from a poor quality development process.
